46 games this season, of which we've played 17. We have 12 points and 29 games left.
Lets say that we need 46 points to stay up. It could (and probably will) be more. Donny finished 4th bottom last season with 48, but 43 would have been good enough. The season before, Palace stayed up with 49.
Lets say for now, 46 points are required.
That means we need 34 more points. That's 11 wins and a draw required from 29 games (this is in line with what Garry Thompson was saying on CWR).
I think we need 36 points....10 wins, 6 draws...or 9 wins and 9 draws....or 13/11 defeats....it's possible, but when you consider 2 wins to date, and the lack of pace meaning that we are sitting ducks during away games, I'm struggling to see where we will score the goals to win games, and the clean sheets needed to avoid defeat....
So near enough we need to win a third of our remaining fixtures? Hmmm does not sound too bad. 1 in 3 sounds a little less so...and that's for survival.
Maybe there'll be a widespread Championship version of calciopoli and we'll effortlessly stay up on the virtue of being the only team who couldn't even afford to bet on fixed matches.
If we get nothing from Cardiff i think it means we'd need 1.46 points per game... That is play off form to survive !!
It's sad to think but i think even if there was a buy out or take over or even some needed injection into the current team It may be too late anyway. We haven't put a play off challenging team together in 5 or 6 years so i doubt we'd do it now !!
I still have a little hope though but i do think it's my Sky Blue tinted glasses giving me that !?
