Watching The Traitors. Only 10 mins in and there's already at least 6 people I want to punch.

Buried | Rotten Tomatoes

A civilian truck driver in Iraq, Paul Conroy (Ryan Reynolds) falls victim to a band of insurgents. An unknown length of time later, Paul awakes in a coffin, with little more than a lighter, a cell phone, and his ever-growing anxiety. Faced with a dwindling oxygen supply and a dying battery, Paul...

Mythic Quest (Apple TV) - Just watched the first season and enjoyed it. Comedy about a videogame company. Got a few people in common with Community and has similar vibes at times. (Also stars a Wrexham owner - Not Ryan Reynolds, the other one whose name escapes me)

Really - really - looking forward to The Detectorists feature-length special on Boxing Day. One of the finest comedies of the modern era.
I know 'comedy' is subjective, but it's there if you look for it, but the overall themes of the whole shebang make it a must-watch whether you find the funny stuff funny or not.
Pure brilliance from Mackenzie Crook.

I don't quite hold it in that kind of exaltation, but I do really, really like it.

I smile more than I laugh, though there are some big laughs to be found. I just found it charming and very, very British and comforting and warming.

Really looking forwards to the new Christmas special.

The Man From Earth (2007) - Amazon Prime

Single location dialogue heavy movie about a college professor who tells his workmates he’s really 14,000 years old. Really enjoyed it and a great premise.

Whiplash (Netflix) - Crazy old music teacher man nearly sends young drummer insane. Didn’t think I’d enjoy a movie about drumming but really did.

An Honest Liar (Amazon Prime, but with adverts. When did that start?)

It's about renowned skeptic and magician James Randi.

Probably helps if you know a little about him and his crusade to expose charlatans and hucksters.

I found out some stuff I didn't know. Worth a watch.

Here's a joke.

Q. What do you call a person who hangs around with musicians?

A. A drummer.

See, I had the exact opposite response…I read the reviews, thought I’d love it…turns out I thought a film about drumming was absolute shite.
For similar responses see Black Swan.

Watched The Thing (the one with Kurt Russell) again the other night. It’s still great.

Heard lots of good things about S2 of The White Lotus - watched the first season and was pretty underwhelmed, but have heard the second is much better. Is it worth bothering with?

1899 (Netflix). Two in at the moment and I have no idea what's going on. Very ambitious, with a number of languages being spoken by the cast.
Hasn't quite got the depth of 'Dark' yet, but shaping up nicely.

Also, finished the latest 'The Boys' (Amazon Prime) last night. If you liked Deadpool but would prefer something even less 'Marvely', then this is the show for you (not one for the kiddies though).
