He`s the best comedy character since Father Jack and casting Steve Evets in the roll was just genius.

There`s even a load of Farmer Jim merchandise on sale now, T shirts, mugs etc

Ive started watching the new Robin Hood with Sean Bean as the Sheriff of Nottingham on MGM+. Been good so far but 1 episode every Sunday is annoying. Worth waiting til Xmas when you can binge the whole thing.

We watched "Black Bag" tonight. It's everything a movie should be: Screenplay, direction, performances, cinematography, editing and soundtrack are all outstanding. Completely original story. And it's 90 minutes long! It gets my highest recommendation

Brimstone (2016 )

Dark, brutal Western Noir, with Dakota Fanning and Guy Pearce in the leads ( both excellent )

Fanning plays a young women on the run from a brutal and sadistic Preacher ( Pearce ) who also has a taste for underage girls.

The film is set in four chapters with Biblical references and the first three are excellent, but a very hard watch at times, sadly the last chapter felt rushed, almost like they`d run out of ideas how to finish the film.

Not easy viewing, but worth watching for the performances of Fanning and Pearce.

Predator Badlands.

Without doubt one of the worst sc-fi films I`ve ever seen.

It`s mind boggling, that the same director who made the outstanding Prey, could`ve made this total mess.

Even the CGI is dreadful.

It`s a film I would avoid on the TV, let alone the cinema.

A genuine turkey.

On the basis of this review I watched Prey tonight. Yeah, it was good! Think I’ll give the other one a miss though.

Finished that last series of Brassic, disappointed it felt rushed and not enough Vinnie. I'm led to believe there were some fallouts amongst the cast. Not sure how true that is . Shame

It is Stephen King. I’ve started it and up to episode 4 S1 - the perps mother has just jerked him off as he had a migraine

The reviews have been universally bad, which is a real shame as I read a lot of stuff from Joe Gilgun prior to them filming it, where he was saying it was going to be the best of the lot and it`d really go out with a bang.

It`ll still be remembered as an all comedy great though and I`d love them to do some spin offs :

Farmer Jim and Shirley Paslowski.

The McDonaghs.

It was never the same once Dylan left, as the dynamics between him and Vinnie was one of the central planks of the whole show.

Watched Nuremburg with Russel Crowe in the cinemas yesterday and its quite a good movie, worth date night with the other half if they're history buffs!

The cost to me is that I'm obliged to watch Wicked 2 this weekend...

There's an official Pluribus podcast which is worth a listen. One after each episode. Being official you get the people actually involved in making it on there.

It's not Christmas until I've watched Scrooged, It's A Wonderful Life and the Father Ted special, one of the three ticked off already. It's Ireland's biggest lingerie section I understand

How many times do you reckon you`ve watched it now ?????

I can virtually recite the whole thing from start to finish and it still makes me laugh every time I watch it

29 years since it came out so that's once a year minimum, it's got to be upwards of 40 times! Plus I'm going to watch it again before Christmas as it was October so doesn't count. I'll welcome any chance to get reacquainted with all the lads like Fathers Chewy Louie and Spodo Komodo

I’ve never watched it’s a wonderful life
Love Scrooged and national lampoons Christmas vacation , but have a real soft spot for nativity . Mainly because my daughter was in the infant school at holy family when it was filmed and she’s an extra in a couple of scenes

The Apprentice - just dropped on Netflix.

Sebastian Stan, is totally convincing as the young Donald Trump, as he falls under the spell of his disgusting lawyer, Roy Cohn, who is played by Jeremy Strong ( of Succession fame ), who is spell binding as the human garbage that is Roy Cohn.

I`m not sure this film would appeal to anyone who doesn`t have an interest in Trump and how he became what he is today.

I found it fascinating and you can fully understand why Trump tried to block it`s release, as he`s portrayed as a weak and gullible young man, who`s totally corrupted into becoming what he is today by the monster that Cohn was.

Strong is just amazing as Cohn and his portrayal of him makes your skin itch.

Just reading the Jimmy Cliff stuff on the Death List thread…The Harder They Come is worth a watch albeit might look quite dated now.

If memory serves me correctly I think it was the first Jamaican feature film.

Stranger Things season 5 is out today

Watched my daughter grow up, as we both sat and watched the seasons together.

Must watch now for me for sentimental and warm fuzziness reasons.

Same here with my eldest lad, that and the Punisher

I`m just finishing something off and then I`m going to start with the very first episode and work my way through every episode as a pilgrimage.

People who don`t like Stranger Things don`t like life.

Didn't realise it was out today!
It's a show that I will binge for a weekend once a year and really enjoy it, but then forget about it until the next series as there are such massive gaps between each .
Crazy the first series was nearly 10 years ago now.

I'm going to wait until they've released the full lot before getting cracking on it. I saw that Netflix crashed when it was released which I don't remember happening before, the show's a behemoth.

Yes we were disappointed with the last one - always difficult to finish up something that had been so good - the swapping of characters didn’t do much for the continuity however over the years we really enjoyed it Farmer Jim being my favourite character followed by Tommo and his management of the nightclub - episodes like rescueing Gideon from the nude cult are still on the recorder - favourite clip - Farmer Jim’s response to the rave request

I thought the episodes were OK but it felt a bit like an anthology show where a different character got an episode each week.

Heard an interview with one of the cast saying the ending got changed late on to enable them to return for a potential movie or special at some point. Not sure how much impact that had.
