Thought Del Toro was wonderful in it too.Went to see it last night and I agree with you,it was brilliant and the trailers really didn`t do it justice.
Considering it was 2hrs 40mins long, there was no point in the film where I became bored and switched off.
Dicaprio was his usual effortlessly brilliant self, with a terrific supporting cast and in particular Sean Penn, as the crazie Colonel Lockjaw, who was a massive pisstake send up of RFK Junior.
Completely in tune with what`s going on in Trumps America at the moment and took massive, yet subtle swipes at ICE and Trump, without naming him.
Well worthy of all the praise it`s getting and a shoe in for a bag full of awards.

Strange one this, as it had all the ingredients to be a good series, but it`s very average, to borderline rubbish.
Directed by Laura Linney, produced by and starring Jason Bateman, so you think the writing would be good.
It just feels like a poor attempt to mimic Ozarks, with some very sub standard camera work and a bad script.
Jude Law does his best, but even he can`t save it.
One to watch when you`ve got nothing else to watch.
I was hoping it would be as good as Ozark but it's just...not.

Starring and directed by Cillian Murphy.
This really won`t be for everyone, as it`s just bleak, unforgiving and very deep.
Set in the mid 90`s, Cillian Murphy, plays " Steve " the head of a reform school that`s on it`s arse, understaffed, chronically underfunded ( what`s new ? ) and with pupils who are more like wild animals than people.
The film covers 24 hrs at the school, as Murphy struggles with his own personal demons, whilst trying to keep the staff and the boys together.
I haven`t read the book it`s based on - Shy ( the name of one of the boys ) so I don`t know how faithful it is to the book, but Murphy is excellent and very believable, with a very strong supporting cast, inc Emily Watson and Tracy Ullman.
It`s real " thinking " film, I watched it with my missus, who fell asleep ( you have to bear in mind her favourite film is Dirty Dancing ! ), so I can safely say many will find it boring, but if you like a serious well put together film, this is for you.

A few episodes into Monsters: The Ed Gein Story on Netflix.
Meh, I liked the earlier American Horror Story series, but finding anything by Ryan Murphy and co nowadays pretty tiring and more edgy than it needs to be. Wouldn't really bother
I`m pretty much the same with this tbh.
I can`t fathom why Charlie Hunnam is so ripped to play Gein, as the real Gein was a weedy nobody ?

The writers always seem obsessed with making these serial killers weird sex symbols. It was the same with Evan Peters in Dahmer
It makes a mockery and devalues the whole thing and it`s also offensive to the families of the victims.
If you`re going to have someone portray a serial killer, at lease try and keep it as close to the facts as you can, like they did with Cameron Britton`s superb portrayal of Ed Kemper in Mindhunter.

Went to see Good Boy last night, a horror film from the perspective of a dog.
It's been getting rave reviews and the dog is brilliant in it, but I thought the film itself was a bit average.
Do any dogs die in it? If so, not for me.
