Armstrong was electric for half a season, but then got disinterested when Mowbray lost his head and was signing old, unfit players as stop-gaps, and we sold Maddison

Agree Madders wasn't the same after he was sold and back on loan but we'd also lost the much unfairly maligned Ryan Kent at Christmas and the boo boys had really got stuck into Murphy too by then which didn't help AA. I remember the game in late nov/early dec when we we were flying and beat Gillingham 4-0/4-1(?) and went top - we looked amazing across the whole attack. If they could have maintained that for longer who knows, although history has shown TM sides generally do come down with the christmas lights.

I remember the goals at Crewe being special, the one where he gave the defender 4 yards start and still beat him to get in and score.

Jan 16 and it was feckin cold, but the chippie made up for it

A major factor in our downfall from that game onwards was the injury to Ben Turner. Although we were scoring goals we were still fairly weak at the back and Turner was a step above that level at that time.

A very bold claim!

Sure possibly not Real but all the top clubs in the UK were linked with him at one time or another when he was flying at Bournemouth. Injuries have been a blight on his career and seems if Maddison may go the same way.
