So we've only just got 15 points in 7 games! Last time we were unbeaten in first 7 games was in 1993 back in Prem with 13 points. It's been an amazing start to the season and the players are showing immense character to pluck out results from a bad position!

We still have yet to see Allen play in this team, O hare has already made an impact albeit from a supersub position, Liam Walsh is a class loan signing too and we have yet to see all our best players play at the same time in a game.

The question is, can we make it count and finally get back to championship after 7 long years away from the 2nd tier?

Temped to say, imagine if we had held on against Oxford.... but that’s probably cancelled out by the Portsmouth match!

Ironic thing is we were shite for 40 mins today, add that to the below par performance at Oxford too. I look forward to a more settled midfield.

Gotta say, he’s far from the biggest culprit. The match threads for a team joint top
Of the league are shocking ., very few players escape criticism

Very true. At times it's embarrassing.

One really good thing is the belief that even when we're behind we've got the confidence at the moment to come back into it. So many times in previous seasons games like today and Portsmouth would've been all over and we'd have almost gone into damage limitation mode and just tried not to concede more. Very exciting start to the season, and we've yet to pick our best 11 in any single game (and unfortunately looks like we won't be able to for a few weeks yet)

For me thats now gone. Robins has changed it. Yes we might concede a late goal sumtimes bit thata football. Its no longer cos we r scared imo

Exciting times. Forgetting off pitch problems we have a real chsbce of autos as i dont think we have hit top form yet

Totally agree, Robins has turned the team on its head and done it on a shoestring. Think there will be clubs out there trying to poach him come January. Can’t see him leaving mind now he’s got the team he’s built

At the moment it's Doncaster who look to be the danger. 2 games in hand, unbeaten, won their last 3. On current form I see them and Ipswich as the main worry

Ipswich will win the league imo! Think Sunderland will have a similar season to last year and be in the playoffs. Portsmouth will inevitably be in the running too despite a slow start. I might be a bit harsh here but hiwula, Westbrook and Shipley need replacing when others return from injury. I think today our midfield excluding Walsh looked weak. Ohare has to start with his talent and maybe Allen on in the 70th to score against his old club

He certainly knows where the net is. Nice finish today despite being offside. Maybe a couple more games to gel with the new additions, if not it’s bench bound for me.

Lincoln have already lost 3 games, can't see them being in contention myself, despite the pre-season hype by the press. Fleetwood already lost 2. Means nothing at this stage I know, but not a good sign when there are still 4 unbeaten sides. Blackpool 3-game wonders, have only taken 3 points from their last 4 games. Wycombe surprising many, but maybe don't have the depth of squad, I don't know. Hope you are right about Donny but they were there abouts last season.

Think Hiwula is good enough, he’s a good finisher but maybe struggling for an understanding with the new boys. Somewhat agree about Westbrooke and Shipley, although I think Allen and O’Hare will take their places at some point- Shipley is still a very useful versatile squad player and he has a good workrate. Walsh could end up starting over Kelly imo.

Last year was a very stable top 6. Although we were 8th, we barely threatened Doncaster. In the course of the 2nd half of the season, Posh and Pompey left the top 6 and Charlton and I think Luton joined it. But there was a clear gap for most of the last third.
This year looks quite fierce - City, Ipswich, Sunderland, Fleetwood, Lincoln, Doncaster, Posh will all be contenders. Pompey, Rotherham and Oxford, despite poor starts will climb, almost certainly. Suspect Wycombe will fall away. Blackpool are a wild card.
Note that so far the quality of our opposition has not been the best...

Don't rule out Burton, if they steer clear of injuries (although I suspect their squad depth may hamper them as the season progresses)

although we have beaten one of that contenders group at home, and drawn away at 2 others.

Also take a look at the fixture list. Its not like last year wear u r worried about subderland luton pompey barsnley charlton as rivals for autos let aloje playoffs

This year sunderland and Ipswich look strongest and then therr r loads of teams who may have been in playoff hunt last yesr only. Pompey dont look as good and sunderland despite best on paper argubly still look unconvincing under jack ross( @steve82 manager of season LOL)

I look thru fixture list and judt think win draw win draw and not many losses. Now i know we will losw games thisnseason. Prob wuite a few but unlike last season i am not expecting many losses

That said burtob away could be first one but i would still back us to bounce back vs wimbledon and then even donny i am not writing it off as lost pts

When people assume weve had an easy start they should look at last seasons start, we picked up 7 points less and played worse teams overall.

The fact we are getti g the points off teams we usually struggle against is a good sign
