Looking like I won’t be going to Wembley, but want a bit more atmosphere than my front room provides.

Where is good to watch big games like the SF in Cov? Would need to be somewhere I can guarantee a seat for my Dad and ideally not loads of kids.

I’ve heard the Empire (sounds like loads of kids but am open to it), the Tavern (seems small, could I get a seat?), didn’t one of the cinemas show the Leicester game? What’s that like?

Would love to hear from people who have watched some of the recent games somewhere other than Wembley or at home.

Empire is probably the best shout - atmosphere wise.

How does it work? Do you have to book a seat/ticket?

Not been the Empire but people I know who have love it though I'm not sure you're guaranteed a seat.
Albany club might be a good option if you need a sit down

There's one main sort of hall area with two big screens. There is some seating, mainly for families etc. You have to book a ticket (free) via their website. I rocked up with my ticket and they didn't even scan it but worth getting one just incase. Queues for the bar are abit of a joke though and beer is flying all over the place once we score.

Pubs my side of town. The Walsgrave, Rose and Crown, heard the 4 Ps is ok too depends where you live but being on terrestrial TV on an April afternoon most will be busy as we have a smaller Wembley allocation than our previous few visits

Old man can’t make the Wembley trip. We had him in a wheelchair for the playoff final and he struggled and has got worse since then. Did briefly consider going it alone but I’d rather watch with him.

If we make the final he’s on his own tho lol

Fair enough. I’d probably be the same if it was my dad.

Gutted you can’t make it though.

Empire was good (first time I'd been), things worth calling out:

- there aren't any seats in the Main Room
- the bar in the Main Room is tiny and pointless
- seats in the Main Bar are decent but not very accessible
- Balcony Bar seats are more accessible but small TVs
- queues in the Main Bar were mad before KO but fine after
- good screens in the Main Bar so queueing was less sh*t than it could've been
- don't think it's set up at all to accommodate kids, grim for them
- smoking area is an accident waiting to happen with one entrance

On a serious note, it wouldn’t surprise me if they opener a stand or something for fans to watch the game on a big screen.

Anyone doing that is a wanker tbf. If you were going to offer them out on here you’d actually offer them out.

Nah it’s understandable and all genuine people from here. Last season I had all kinds of randoms I’d never seen a post from, that annoyed me. Will always sort out genuine city fans if I can.

We're going, but not sure if I'm doing the right thing guilt tripping my dad into going. He's 79 and not the quickest on his pins. Has stopped away games now but as one of the few remaining who have done all 5 Wembley trips and we've always gone together, I said he'd regret missing it. I want to watch it with him, but no way I can deny taking my daughter and Dad understands that, so would really like him to make it if he can.

I will say when we went for the playoff final Wembley staff were great in terms of getting us a wheelchair, letting us in and up the lift and taking us through to the right entrance to the bowl. It’s just whether you can get seats somewhere nearby. Though even the small steps up and down in the bowl can be a challenge.

Hope he can make it and it all goes well

Thanks. Yeah he's not in a chair, just very slow walking and I think he thinks he's a burden, which he never will be, but always thinking of us as he knows we'd do the day differently without him in terms of pubs and times etc

In fact after seeing Daz's post earlier makes me want him there more than ever, but not sure if that's selfishly for ne or him so don't want to pressure him if he's not comfortable.

On the plus side, if he's in the Leamington supporters and doesn't go that frees up 50 tickets.
But I say do what you can to accommodate him and get him down there, you may not get another chance.

Sorry to hear that but good on you, family before the extended family. Similar issue last year, got train to ground where I met bro and dad. He struggled from the coach and if he decides its too much now I'll just drive to Cov and watch if with him. He's done enough for me over the years.

I've also been to all 5 Wembley games up to now but got to miss this one as, due to a significant birthday, I'm being taken to Switzerland by train on Saturday, 20th April. Absolutely gutted but the only way I could make Wembley would be a total, country wide and Eurostar strike ! Oh well... I'm sure I'll enjoy the Glacier Express

Well in that case you should go to the casino at the CBS, lift, plenty of seats ,big screens, no kids and free parking just outside the doors.
