So Maddison is gone. Didn't expect anything else really, but it's taken a few by suprise. Opinions have been split on his decision to leave, but whats your view. Do you harbour any hard feelings?

No hard feelings to James. As the title says, best of luck to him. Just like Wilson I'll be watching his career with interest next season. Who knows if he's not threatening for a place in the first team we may even get him back on loan again.

Clearly we were just a stepping stone for him. Frankly I care about as much as any other reserve player from a team that isn't ours. He's nothing more than a waste of a loan slot now.

Personally i dont harbour any bad feelings. A lot of my friends do, they feel he's disrespected the club. But i just think he's a talented young player who has only done what is best for his career. How many 19 year olds do you know who are worth £2m and play for a Premier League club? He's done well

I think it is a sensible move for him. It ensures he will be at least in the Championship if not the Premier League next season.
I am sure he has got a good financial deal and with a club where he stands a chance of getting game time to continue his development. He also has the rest of this season to try and help Coventry get promoted. That would be a great way to leave and say thanks.

From the first time I saw him play it was clear (to me, at least) that he is an unusually talented player. His gift for finding space and "losing" markers should serve him well.

Very sorry to see him go, particularly in this "last minute in the transfer window" way, but glad that we keep him for the rest of the season and hopeful that the fee is at the better end of the rumours.

The move suits CCFC more than say a move to a bigger club. The prospect of a sell on is surely higher from Norwich. Suppose there is an argument that Norwich effectively is our agent in a future deal.

When McSheffrey left for the Blues I was still at school and it left me heartbroken. I'm a better man now! I won't boo him, hes still a cov fan. I don't blame him for leaving. I'd have been looking to leave too, maybe held out for a better move though. Wonder if we'll keep singing he's one of our own now.

Don't blame the lad at all, what a lot of fans forget is that playing his his job, it is what he gets paid for, and what he is building his future security from. Norwich are a well supported club having come through some tight financial issues in the past, an I'm sure he will settle well there if all goes well for him. Previous players such as Butterfield and Hucks did well there and put down roots.

I hope he hasn't gone too soon, he still has a lot to learn, but if he does break into the Prem then maybe he'll get some protection from the Refs!

So Madders- go out and play your heart out for the Skyblues until you go, and thanks for the skills you shown this season. ALL THE BEST YOUNG MAN!

We were lucky to have had him at all, such is the competition to get talented youngsters into academies these days.
There is a danger that Norwich will get relegated and will not have the resource to bring him on as his potential deserves ... and to bring us a few bob more. It would be interesting to know if there are any clauses written into the contract relating to Norwich's position in the league.
I am very surprised that CCFC didn't take the lump sum now from all the "bigger" clubs that were (reportedly) willing to pay for him. Maybe it was all media bollocks, and Norwich was the only club that were genuinely interested?? Shocker!!!

Whilst I understand the point that going to Norwich will allow Maddison more game time, by graduating him into the team, something that may have taken a lot longer at one of the bigger clubs, but Norwich are a club that regularly struggle, and playing in such a team may not afford him the chance to show off the skills he has.

If Norwich go down, they will want to come straight back up, and to get out of that league is a battle, and they not have the space for a frail skillfull young player that may get bullied off the ball by older wiser players, whilst the same may be true if they stay up, as if Norwich are perennial strugglers, will they have the room for him,or will they want more experineced players who know how to fight their way out of a relegation battle?

For me its an odd move, and he would have been better off wiating for a club like Southampton or Spurs, if they were ever interested.
