the 2-0 Man U is tainted due to their team that night
It was special for our following but thats it
Your profile says your 35I'm not a very prolific poster but I enjoy reading all the letters on here. I have been watching City for 40 years and thought I would spend a bit of time with pen & paper jotting down my best games. Here they are gents
1. CCFC 4 Tottenham 3 1986/1987
2. CCFC 6 Derby 2 2004/2005
3. Tottenham 2 CCFC 3 1996/1997
4. CCFC 3 Tottenham 2 1986/1987
5. CCFC 5 Norwich 4 1977/1978
6. CCFC 3 West Ham 2 1980/1981
Nothing tainted about it, the team Manure put out were mainly internationals, even Dong (snigger) too, don't know what happened with Martin or Dong later on in their respective careers but for the rest, have been largely successful.the 2-0 Man U is tainted due to their team that night

Posted this before but hey ho, i was 11, behind the goal on the kop, Fergusons chip over clemence looked fantastic 30 yrds out sublime finish, as i remembered it! Saw it for the first time on tv aged about 35 talk about shattered memories, one of the best goals in one of the best games id ever seen turned out to be an average lob from about 12 yrds, still in one of the best games ive ever seen, that was THE Liverpool, and we beat them magnificently! Ish!78 liverpool I remember well, these boys were scary and you lived in fear of what they could do to you, Ferguson saw to them though and I think 31k were there to see it and there weren't too many Liverpool
That Man City game is my favourite game. We were simply irresistible that night. Top of the league, unbeaten Man City couldn't live with us.Fergie a hat trick and Wallace with the other.how about these for the older men
Forest 2 CCFC 4 1989/1990
CCFC 4 Man City 2 1977/1978
North WarwickshireIrish Sky Blue, yes you are right
WHereabouts in this fine country are you
Brown and Carrick were in the squad and came on, so not tainted at all. They left out Van Der Sar, Evra, Ferdinand, Brown, Vidic, Giggs, Carrick, Scholes, Ronaldo, Tevez, Rooney
And none of our team would have got into their reserves. Their subs were worth 20 times our whole team. One thing about the game I've never seen 40000 people leave a ground so quickly 15 minutes before the end of a gameit was tainted, that was a reserve team
Ccfc 4 Spurs 3 1986-87 is a great shout-Cyrillie in the last minute.
Ccfc 5 Notts Forest 4 league cup from 1989? Steve Livingstone et al.
One from the more recent Ccfc 2 PNE 1 from the Johnstons paint trophy. Leon Clarke with the last kick off the game.
It was 3-2 not 2-1 but definitely one of the best games at the RicohI know it was a scruffy match with some howlers but that PNE game came straight to mind. I watched it on telly and spilt my drink everywhere when Leon got the winner!

Was that a midweek game during Black's time? If so I remember the west terrace being a great atmosphere and their keeper got really wound up he was challenging people about how much they earned. What about that game against Preston, first half anyway, when we won 4-1. We were 4 nil up at half time and absolutely tore them apart.
Pretty sure that was the game where we played a long ball and their defender had about a 10 yard start on Julian Joachim and Joachim completely burned him. Think that was Bjarni Gudjonsson's best ever game for us too.
The Gillingham game a couple of years back was very similar too, but I just remember us being absolutely sensational in that Preston first half. Really had everyone out of their seat.
Yep, was a midweek game and was under Black. Was that a midweek game during Black's time? If so I remember the west terrace being a great atmosphere and their keeper got really wound up he was challenging people about how much they earned.
In a similar vein I found the 1-0 win at HR against WBA that season really satisfying. We were struggling, as usual, and they were top of the league around christmas time and we won in the last minute with Johnnie Jackson's exquisite chip over the keeper.
Absolutely! The Midlands match of the Century is my all time 'moment in time' favourite game. Followed closely by Wembley '87. Trivia point, I played for Kings Lynn in season 82/83, and our captain was one Mick Wright, who scored the headed winner against City at Highfield Road. Mick played over 1,100 games for Lynn, was never booked and rarely injured. Played well beyond his 40th year in a good standard of football. I played in his 1,000th game, a 0-0 draw at Runcorn, who at that time were romping away with the Northern Premier League. They don't make 'em like that any more.THE match against the Wolves beats everything in my opinion. Certainly knocks spots off the Kings Lynn debacle
