Shouldn’t this have been “2nd best goalkeeper” - I mean there’s no real debate as to the best one in league one

Still Bill Glazier. He never conceded a single goal in league one

Why isn't Stockdale on the list?

Well, he was an emergency loan and wanted an opinion and not a joke

I thought he was first choice during most of his spell with us, rather than an understudy?

Stockdale is a cut above the keepers in the OP's list, for that reason I go with Stockdale.

By that token it would have to be Reg Matthews, given that he played for England while we were in the 3rd tier.

Note to self - I must remember that football doesn't count before the start of the Premier League

As much as I liked Murphy I still cringe at a goal he conceded against Reading... Jason Roberts shot from the corner of the area and Murphy thought it was going wide - he put his arms in the air and shepherded it into the bottom corner

Murphy was pretty good in league 1, exposed a bit in the Championship. Saved a lot of pens from memory

Murphy was a good keeper you can’t possibly know if stockdale is better for us - he had one shot against him in his two games?

Hes a better keeper from his previous body of work

If messi played 1 loan game for us he would be best attacker cov have ever had even if hadji or.mcallister etc did more for cov

Hes just a better player is my only meaning

He played 39 games as a deputy at Fulham in the top flight over 5 seasons

Murphy has played far more games in the second tier than Stockdale.

John Williams body of work is better than Leon Clarke’s by that logic

Murphy could never play 39 games in prem tho

Thats what i voted on. Most talented keeper we have had in league 1

I have not been impressed with our league 1 keepers so easy decison for me

I added Stockdale a few days after so might not be that accurate but is anything from cov fans accurate?

Easily Joe Murphy. He was underrated whilst here, probably because he followed Westwood. I remember a brilliant game he had for us at West Ham at New Year in the year we were relegated from the Championship. He’s never been properly replaced. I think the lack of a decent keeper has been a real weakness over the last few seasons and it’s really surprised me that that this not been addressed, hopefully it will be in the summer.
