Let's face it! there are soooo many GREAT names from the past that we all could mention - from recent players like Westy, Dann etc to the greats of the past like Houchen, (ahem!), Regis, Wallace, Hutchinson, Ferguson, Coop, Robbie Keane etc.... etc..... Blimey, what great names played for this club!!! Fantastic memories!

Robert Jarni - didn't cost us any wages , Didn't even have to print his name on a city shirt , didn't put a foot wrong and looked really good sat in the Main Stand at Highfield rd in his shades watching us play . Sold him and made some money as well . Good business

Scott Dan, He's worth a damn lot of money at the moment, just hope we have a sell on clause in place.

Leonard Brody seems to think that we don't. That would be a schoolboy error by Ranson etc if we didn't insert one.

I can't find the wise goal against hull on the net. Does anyone have a link to that overhead kick?

We have had many good signings, but Oggy has to be up there, and a long forgotten one just for the fact he was dirt cheap and gave us years of good service, was Micky Gynn, bought for 60k from Petrebrough after Bobby Gould saw him in a freindly against us and was so impressed.

Not the one of the best signings ever but for giving us the unexpected and on and off the pitch I always rated Noel Whelan. I think he went up a lot in my opinion when seeing him belting out the Sky Blue song down the tunnell outside the oposition changing room.

micky gynn,,was a legend.i remember when we won the cup one of my mates dad was a bin man and got gyns wage slip out of his bin,,he was only on £500 a week which was still a lot in 87..and whenever he scored it was always the same headline...gynns just the tonic

MICHAEL Gynn. He didn't like being called Micky! Met him in the Player's Lounge in '92, great bloke. Though he was getting hammered with a bunch of his friends. Also met Kevin Gallacher that day, he was a very nice guy, had a proper chat with him. Oggy was a bit surly though. The difference between the players then and now is vast, the relatively poor money they used to be on kept them grounded as they knew they were lucky to be playing football for a living. These days, the players pretty much know they are secured for life once they've played for a few years. Dean Emerson is a postman now isn't he?

If we mean really recent, all 3 of Dann, Fox and Westwood were cracking signings. Of the present squad, Clingan and Hussey are the guys who were bargains given ther relative talent. I can see either becoming top-flight players.

Trevor Peake, Killer and Oggy all came here for pretty much bugger all and were the foundation stone for our greatest achievement. Still like to believe that in todays game you can build such success from the back!!!
