Doesn't mean he was cr&p for us tbf.

Marc McNulty is now, at the age of 32, playing in one of the 2nd tier leagues in Australia. He was great for us.

Your response doesn't really stack up. Ostigard is still a Norwegian international as well.

He really wasn't overrated. I said back then I'd sign him in a heartbeat and not at all surprised he's gone on to do well. In fact at the time I'd have probably preferred him to become permanent over Vik if we had the choice. Imo He's Bobby Thoms+passing.

Shows what a terrific model Brighton have. Not only the team they have and the stars they've sold, but those like Gyokeres and Ostigaard too. I always thought Ayari would be a player too, just too soon at the level for us to have been thrust in and could've done with a L1 loan first to get some minutes in.

Ostigard wasn’t great at passing for us. He could’ve developed that facet of the game for us but we’ve got to remember our defence that season wasn’t great.

He was. My point still stands though.

A lot of sentiment on this thread regarding certain loanees . Were Ostigard , Doyle and Maatsen really better than Thomas , Kitching and Bidwell?

Yes.

Who would command highest fees to reinvest in the squad is one way to look at it.

In fairness, I had their time at Coventry specifically on my mind rather than what they’ve gone on to do. Even so, Maatsen started more often than Bidwell when he was on loan with us.

Maarten for Bidwell and I think that’s it. That back three was rock solid.

Who would you depict as a modern day legend, because we’ve been so shit its quite hard to call them legends alongside Oggy, Big Cyrille, Benno etc.
For me:
- Mark Robins
- Adi Viveash
- Liam Kelly
- Matty Godden
- Michael Doyle
- Kyle McFadzean

For us ?
Wasn't overly impressed when he was with us which I thought was the whole point of the question posed ?

He was raw but he was also obviously very high quality.

The season after he played for us he was a regular in a side that dominated the division.
