I’m not certain, but I don’t think you can be on remand awaiting trial for more than 6 months. If he was arrested back in August last year 6 months is up.

Partly correct. It is 6 months limit but he's only been on remand for 4. Could have easily been kept on remand until at least his next hearing at the end of the month.

I think he may have been up to no good after his arrest from memory, these are the women that have come forward who knows if there are more.

The reason I asked was, if I remember rightly, he was charged with extra offences a couple of months ago so could he have been kept on remand for an extra six months on those?
