Ben Bloom is pretty fair. Love Sam Parkin on his show too and What the EFL.

Second tier I listen to but Ryan Dilkes is a bit of a . At least Justin changes his mind when the facts change.

Favourite Championship reviews / previews are from Callum Fowler. Very funny and honest (hates blades as well).

Alex Craig my favourite City Vlogger but others are good. The beardy bloke who says fuck a lot is good for giggles but feel like his lad is the grown-up

Yeah I really Alex Craig’s videos as well.

Haven’t played any top teams… Our last 2 away games were against 2nd place in the table.

Let’s look at Ipswich’s record against ‘top teams’…

Southampton - D
PNE - L
Boro - L
Bristol - D
Watford - D
Hull - W
Derby - D
Charlton - L

Ipswich’s wins:
Norwich - 23rd
Sheff U - 22nd
Pompey - 19th
Swansea - 20th
WBA - 17th
QPR - 16th

Ipswich have beaten one team in the top half, we’ve beaten 6 teams. Hull are the only top half team that we’ve played and not beaten.

If they mean parachute teams, we played Lesta and Sheff Utd. If they mean teams at the top end of the table, we can't play ourselves obviously but we have played a lot of the chasing pack.

They're just making it up as they go along at this point.

Just calculated that of the remaining teams in the top 10 - we've played 6 of them. 6 over 3 is a clear majority.

From those 6 games, we've taken 16/18 points and our cumulative score is 17-5.

Let them be salty. Embarrassing themselves!

I think what they really mean is 'they haven't played Ipswich yet'. I expect we'll probably lose at Portman Road but so what?

A hell of a lot of cope and seethe going around other Championship clubs atm. Can't knock us on attendances, can't knock us for not owning our ground, can't knock us for just being shit. It's great stuff, i love how salty they are.

If some other club had lost as excruciatingly closely in the playoffs twice in 3 seasons and was then opening up a clear lead at the top, I'd just think it was fair enough and they were due to eventually go up. We were the 'best of the rest' last season and the parachute clubs have started poorly, our league position isn't a surprise or a fluke.

I look through the fixture list and think the vast majority are tough games, except perhaps Pompey/Oxford/Sheff W at home, but if you underestimate those teams you'll get stung. Seasons gone by that hasn't been the case because the promoted clubs are nowhere near this strong usually.

Sure, I mean my personal favourite has been Norwich fans upset they aren't storming the league because we lost to Wrexham. Dude, you have Josh Sargent and are second bottom of the table. Piss off.

To be dismissive of our start you have to ignore a treemndous amount of evidence that points to the fact that its actually outstanding.

I don't think they need to worry too much about that scenario.

Edit - and even if we go up and someone produces undeniable evidence that the season is the Championships poorest ever, I wouldn't give one slither of a fuck, I really wouldn't.

Ipswich are 3 points above mid table
Nothing to worry about.
We will be favourites, and they will be worrying about us for a change.

They have won 3 out of the last 5 but have played QPR, Watford, Swansea, Wrexham and Hull. Hardly the most challenging fixtures.

Ipswich? Good team with a great squad but our best XI compares well to theirs. They spent a fortune and massively have an average west Brom back line.

Irrelevant. We could ask how Ipswich got on against Boro, Watford, Derby and perhaps Charlton after Saturday.

All of their wins barring Hull have come against the bottom 8. Their record v top half team are lacking so far.

It's not possible to pick any meaningful holes in the start we've had.
We've beaten both main challengers away from home.
Yes,Ipswich will be a big test, but they're trailing us for a reason.

It’s a narrative that actually makes no sense. It’s not our fault that all the other teams have been way below the average.

This time last season, 4 teams had 33+ points. We’re outperforming Leeds and Burnley compared to last season and that clearly isn’t a fluke. Leeds and Burnley managed 100+ points and Sheff U finished on 92, who were the first team to reach 40 points (18 games). Sunderland had already begun to slow down by this point and still ambled to 4th place.

No one can reasonably write us off and to do so is like writing off Ipswich in 23/24 where I for one, believed they’d mess it up. Granted, we’re not being chased by 2 teams of Leicester and Leeds’ calibre.

On current PPG, no other team is tracking higher than 81. I do think however that 85 points is a safer bet, with every other team bar us, Boro, Stoke and Ipswich needing at least 2 PPG to get there.

Incidentally we require 1.6 PPG for 85 points and those 3 teams require 1.9 PPG.

It’d be quite satisfying to beat Birmingham’s tally. They’ve been talking that record up so much it’d be well funny beating it the very next season and in a tougher division.
