Posted on the other thread, asked my man if this is with a view to Collins going, and evidently so

Leyton Orient / Gillingham both heavily keen for a small fee

Makes a lot more sense to get some cash in for calamity and have Wilson as proper No2

I’d have fucked both of them off to be honest

Can’t see a league 2 team forking out 100k for a goalie who’s never nailed down a place anywhere and on championship wages.

He played over 100 times for Barnsley.

Get Wilson on the bench moving forward, the thought of Collins coming on for an injured Dovin absolutely scares the shit out of me.

Wilson is a good guy to have around full of energy and will be someone who works hard and doesn't sulk. He deserves the no 2 spot and has never let us down when asked to step in... Don't mind this 1 bit...

Great stuff. He's had some lows, but didn't the whole team? Can remember hearing 'super Ben Wilson in goal' a lot, which tells you something.

And I don't think it's cliche to say he is an important character around the team. It is needed. Especially for a 2nd choice player to have the positivity to keep going, even when your not starting.

Great to have him for longer!

Even though I don’t particularly rate him, I’m somewhat glad for reasons echoed by others. Right kind of personality fit for a 2nd choice, unlikely to kick up a real stink if he’s not playing, serviceable as a Champ keeper for the odd game here and there.

The last 3 contracts have been also been about maintaining a stable squad environment and adding and retaining experience within the squad environment.

All these posters who want wholesale changes on the basis of a couple of poor results are dare I say not management material.

Filan did well at Blackburn when he left here. Only got games after Oggy's leg break.

Dean Kiely also had a really good career!

I don't like Wilson. I find his sense of humour annoyingly childish and unfunny. Around the dressing room he'd be cringeworthy. But he's a better goalkeeper than Collins.

I wonder if he’s the only goalkeeper in history to score a goal from 3 yards with his testicles…this could be a research project…

You’ve gotta feel for Cian Tyler & Luke Bell with this contract renewal. Clearly they have no future at this club with the length of contract we’ve given Wilson.

Very few academy footballers make it to become full time professionals.

I don't think the Wilson deal has any bearing on Bell or Tyler's futures.

I would think they thought we need one experienced older keeper in the squad in case Dovin was to get injured. What we don't want is Collins in goal. So maybe one of the academy keepers steps up to no 3 next season .

If that’s the case Wilson would be on the bench at the moment.
