I think as a second keeper, he is great to have. Let’s not forget he won the golden glove 2 years ago.

Didn't see that coming though! Thought he'd be released at the end of his contract

Smart move. Good keeper. Good character. Dovin clearly number 1 but Wilson is a good second choice

Posted on the other thread, asked my man if this is with a view to Collins going, and evidently so

Leyton Orient / Gillingham both heavily keen for a small fee

Makes a lot more sense to get some cash in for calamity and have Wilson as proper No2

Result if they only want a small fee from us to take him.

By “small fee” I assume you mean the change they found down the kitman’s sofa?

All the above ^ plus it won't cost us the earth to get another (happy to be a No.2) keeper in, better the devil you know, sometimes.
He's a very good keeper to boot, just Dovin is playing outta his skin at the mo.

Yup, cracking news!

Hahah, I genuinely think we will be looking at your 100k or less. But still

Higher wage than Wilson getting freed up, and 100k into the kitty

I thought it was a flashback for a second. Good for him, probably an infectious personality to have around the training ground

So we’ve had the risk of Collins having to come off the bench for weeks because “Wilson won’t be here next season” for no reason

Great option to have as a number 2.

Get that fucking chocolate hands clown Collins out the club.

Presumably Wilson will be on the bench for the rest of the season now instead of Collins.

The stat they’ve posted is 45 clean sheets in 117 appearances. Not really a stats guy but that’s got to be up there for any Championship keeper hasn’t it, let alone a back up.

Funny really, as despite a run of form so bad that no fan would ever consider him a viable option again, Collins seems to me to be the superior keeper to Wilson.

good move imo.

Seen celebrities in the soccer aid matches do a better job than Collins.

As has been suggested Collins must be moving on.

Wonder how many of the development squad keepers will be going too - we've got three on the books at the moment and if none of them are considered to be at a point where they could take over from Wilson as a back-up when his contract expired it doesn't bode well for them.

Have him as back up over Collins any day of the week. He's clearly a well liked character around the team and the club.

The subject of a good number 2 is interesting. Watched probably all of Oggy’s 600 games. Who has been our best No. 2. There have been loads. I rated Findlay and to some extent Waugh.

Good move. Need to ship out Collins in the summer.

Debatable if Collins is the better keeper. Maybe ...just.. but only when totally on it and in form. Problem is he strikes me as someone who suffers from pressure and doesn't recover from errors well.

Wilson doesn't have that issue, water off a ducks back for him. Seems a popular character and great for moral. The perfect nature for a back up keeper

Filan did well at Blackburn when he left here. Only got games after Oggy's leg break.

Great news! Previous golden glove winner, happy with his role and a great personality to have in the dressing room.

Can’t see a league 2 team forking out 100k for a goalie who’s never nailed down a place anywhere and on championship wages.
