I'd personally cash in on him, we have plenty of center backs and a bid of 1mill + a large sell on % would be an offer hard to turn down.

Ben is injuried, I no clubs are interested in him but I don't think he wants to leave! As he is under a 3 yr contract I think we would be looking for a big fee for him cuz of that!

that could have been a lucky guess and he wont leave the squad doesn't have enough players to sell unless you offer like 3mil+

Really? Our best defender, probably. If we were to cash in on anyone I'd say Wood.

I can't see Turner going to Bristol City to be honest. I know he got injured last season but before that he was immense and there was talk of Prem teams interested. Only team I could see him going to in this division is Blues, and he'd be a div to do that at the moment!

no doubt hes good, but he gets injuried an aweful lot, they are no good to us sitting in the treatment room and for the same reason i'd get rid of McPake as well. I can't see him leaving us to join Bristol city, if it's anyone it'll be Brum to replace Dann.

I think this injury was a bit unlucky though?

Maybe so, but in the last 3 seasons hes been in the first team, hes picked up a fairly seriously injury each year which has kept him out for a fair bit of the season, Of course i'd love to keep him here for years maybe even a future captain but I think hes a luxury we can't afford.

Maybe we should be looking at the physios and medical staff? In my opinion I still wouldn't get rid of him though!

Don't think it's the medical staff thats the problem, most likely the coaches see the potential he has and just keep pushing harder and harder, or he could be just one of those players destined to spend half his career on the treatment table.

No doubt he's a very good player indeed. We have a plethora of defenders though and if we need to generate money from sales to bring in players in other areas then Ben is our best bet and likely to command the greatest fee.

I personally would sell him ..... on the proviso that, that then means strengthening the team in other areas.

When fit, he's our best defender now. Using the money received to improve in other areas would soften the blow but I can only see SISU taking most, if not all, of it to make up for their own losses.

Personally I would sell Wood. I think our best pairing defensively would be Mcpake and Turner at the back.

Before we sell him wouldnt it be a good idea to get him fit ? Is anyone else just a little concerned that he hasnt made one pre season appearance? I am concerned about him coming back at all right now

Periodically we are told that he is progressing but keeps having little set backs ....... with no pre season he isnt going to be starting anytime soon. I would like to see him stay and he was one of the few offered a new contract and signed so the club like him and he wants to stay. But if selling is on the table he has no value until he proves fitness by a good run in the side..... so I would expect him here till at least January if we wanted to sell at all

Fee is either £1million for Turner or £500k for Turner and must take Eastwood or happy to do a straight swap for Nicky Maynard

Spot on, if only they could both be fit to play together. Wood looked a different player when he was alongside McPake; I don't think I've seen him do well without him, and Turner is quicker than him (or was before this knock).

Ooh, good thread-again, I've been saying this for a few weeks now. I'm amazed that there isn't more concern over his fitness than him being sold. AT & co. are exceedingly good at keeping very bad news under wraps, so I do really worry about Bens' future. I remember the interview on CWR just after his contract was extended toward the end of the 2009/10 season. He had been injured for yonks then, and expressed his relief at getting a new deal at all because he wondered if he was going to make it back. Do we have a Ledley King/Jonathan Woodgate type situation? Great defender, but crocked?

To be fair, he's only had a few months of consistency in his whole City career... To be fair he was brilliant in those few months!
