Can't help feeling short changed by a deal that might reach 1mil with add-ons.

It is the team he supports, can't blame him.

We would never get more than 1 million for him either at the minute, maybe when he was peaking last season but not now.

If they use the money to bring in a striker then fair play. We need a striker more than we need Turner now.

If they don't, they need to go.

.... if the money was available to Thorn then i would spend it on an attacking/creative midfield player and a striker.

Defenders we have a plenty.

Plus a couple of loans if possible would maybe help the relegation fight.

great move

sell Dann for 10 milion, get a competent replacement (he was top of the opta stats) for 1 million

They have done well again out of us

McSheff, Dann, King, Turner

Interesting to hear that Coventry pulled the plug on Turner going to Cardiff with a player coming our way in favour of straight cash from Brum.

I wonder if this is sisu saying we will take 500k and Mr Thorn take 150k and keep us up in the Championship.

I would suspect with Turner to Brum = Dann replacement as he makes the move back to the premiership.

Could be a cash windfall day for CCFC.... i mean SISU sorry.

We are a pacey/good finisher striker and and an attacking/creative midfield player from a chance of staying in this league.

Surley they wont sell Turner, the squad is too light weight as it is. If they sell then i think ADMIN is on the way im afraid.

There is no way the money would be put in a transfer kitty, SISU would never allow it.

It will be used as funds to plug losses. SAD rimes for CCFC if they sell our youth team players that make it into the matchday 11, it was the only thing we had left.

The squad is lightweight, but central defence is the one area we're relatively overstocked. Plus this is a player we haven't even seen in around a year.

OR, this time last year he was top of the opta stats for the entire league.

Sell him at the earliest opportunity, for less than 1 million.

I remember listening to the radio last season and someone said "Turner could be CCFC captain for a very long time"

hmm

I would be amazed if this money is used to improve our squad.

They are simply asset-stripping us for their own benefit before they leave.

It's daylight robbery.

This, i won't believe it untill he actually appears in a brum shirt.
If its true, shame because he was a lad who came through our youth team and had been a big part of our team, this is more believable than cardiff though due to him being from brum.

what a result for Ben

injured and paid for last 9 months, then when coming back from injury, his boyhood team offer to at least double his wages

happy days for him !

I think selling Turner is a good move. We have an embarrassment of riches in this position and I suspect that Thorn's idea of a centre back is more in the Cranie and Keogh type of player rather than a big stopper hoof merchant.
He was impressive last term for a while but has had a long injury and no guarantee he would find that form again. Not sure he would suit our style of play under Thorn.
Hopefully a chunk of money from any sale will go understandably to either a new signing or wages on a loan deal that even SISU know they need to do in order to protect their own interest and get some support back from the fans.
Hope it's a done deal.

Footnote:
Hey SISU can we have a bit of extra cash to buy a player or two?
SISU: " You have 5 centre backs. While you have too many in that position I suggest you get rid of at least one and you will have some extra cash. Why are you asking for more cash when it's right before your eyes?" " Come on we will keep the vital funding of the club going but we are not going to be stupid and keep paying for what we don't need"

Well I tend to agree, but it is surely total madness bordering on suicide! I can fully understand a sale of such as selling a player for 1 million and Sisu taking anything up to 750k, or selling a player for 1.5 million and Sisu taking the million, with the residue going to the manager to try and strengthen the team, but to keep it all and provide no money at all for new players? As I say, total madness!!

I really, really do hope that the initial scenario is correct and that common sense prevails of Sisu at least allocating some small percentage to a transfer kitty.

Going down serves no purpose at all for any party involved with this club and that includes Sisu.

As somebody else said recently on a forum "He's got better and better the longer he's been injured"

Maybe this is what AT meant when he said we will be busy on transfer day? Turner hasn't played for about 9 months, so although gutted to be losing another decent player, if it means we have funds for players coming in then so be it. AT knows what he needs and the type of player, Cardiff offering parkin is not an option IMO. He will go for who he needs/wants (and of course, afford!). Bit pissed off that we seem to be birmingham's feeder club though!!

Cash to fund the operating losses, that is all. As soon as the Hoffman bid collapsed, the board announced that Sisu will continue to 'fund' the club until the end of the season. The sale of big Ben will fund us for two or three months.....until, remarkably, the next transfer window......

They are not funding the club, they just find ways of raising money from within the club. Once the cupboard is bare, and there is nothing to mortgage, then what?

If they want to find investors, that will be even more difficult now- given their unprofessional conduct in breaking confidentiality agreements.....who would do business with them?

Think Paxman has it spot on as usual.

Turner doesn't suit our style of play as he's a clogger (albeit a very good one). Before his injury he was colossal last season and I can't help feeling we'd have got more like 3mil at that point.

Oh well, as i said yesterday I can't think of a manager I'd rather have trying to find a bargain.

This is perfectly plausible too. However, I'd hope that they'd understand that we're desperately short in midfield and need a goalscorer, (Cody McDonald please)

Sorry, why do you keep saying Cody McDonald?! Wasn't good enough for Norwich last season, not even close.
