I'm sorry to say I'm not that bothered, its not like he's played for a whole season, he's not going to come in a bag 20goals obviously.
Wish him well and I'm sure he will do well.
So take the money on a injury prone player and get a striker.

Parkin is not part off the deal,
Hoffmans words.

One injury does not make an injury prone player. My concern is that we are going to be absolutely ripped off by Cardiff. After a long term injury this has decreased his value and he will probably go for 1-1.5 million, before his injury he was arguably the best CB in the division on form. Considering Matt Mills went for 5 million and Turner is younger than him, if Turner can prove his fitness he would be worth 3-4 million in a years time.

It appears that we are now a feeder club for Cardiff

Quite how Cardiff have so much money to spend given their chequered recent financial history is a mystery.

Which is exactly why we shouldn't sell him. If we need to sell a defender it should be Richard Wood, he isn't half the player Turner is and would command a fee of 300-500k maybe?

Good point

I am sure there are a few clubs that would want Richard Wood though, decent enough at championship level. I am sure teams like Ipswich (shipping goals for fun), Leeds wouldn't say no to him.

Everybody is available at the right price, I just think we are being ripped off with Turner if he leaves.

That's a good point, I was under the impression it was prem or bust for them last season. Their obviously not preparing for the 'fair play rules'!

Hi,

Cardiff fan in peace here.

Clearly I've come to see if there is any news about Turner/ Parkin.

To explain why we've got money, our main shareholder is Vincent Tan, a malaysian billionaire, who bought in last May so at the moment we are relaively stable.

I have every sympathy with your predicament as we've suffered financial ups and mostly downs - some horrific- for most of my lifetime (and I'm ealry 40's now !) I hope it sorts itself out, but won't apologise for our clubs interest in your players.
We had to sell Jerome, Chopra, Earnshaw, Kavanagh, McAnuff, Gabbidon, Collins, Ramsey (on the cheap), Delaney, Roger Johnson, Loovens and basically any player worth a fee in the past few years -the basis of a reasonable premier league side. So getting 1 or 2 the other way doesn't even go part way to balancing it up, just sorry its from you and I hope you recover as the Ricoh is a great ground to visit, fantastic stadium and easy to get to and relatively friendly.

Turner looked excellent when we played at yours last year and would be a step up on what we've got IMHO.

Anyway best of luck with sorting your boardroom out.

He scored 6 (i think) goals in half a season, and was our 4th or 5th top scorer at the end of the season last season so i think people underestimate how much we will miss him! Its not as though any of the other defenders on our books will pop up with goals.........

Probably. With our track record you'll get in in 2015.

By the way, Parkin hasn't been given much of a crack with us, he's a strange player. Looks like an egg-chaser (rugby player), but is suprisingly good on the deck for his size. Can be a real handful in the air, but often gets in the wrong spot and loses his headers because of that. Always great AGAINST us, but gives away loads of free kicks when he plays FOR us. Prob because most of the refs hate us (as well as most opposing fans )

I don't hate you, but its just like every club some off your fans can be right dicks! But obviously you have decent fans like yourself.

I've been out all day. Is this for real? As I can't find any links? Has he actually gone?

Will only believe it once the sale has actually gone through. I know we're shipping out players left right and centre, but i think (hope?) turner wouldn't want to go, since he's been with the club since a kid.
Plus after what both Hoffman and Sisu have been saying recently, i've very little time for any rumours to come out of the club.

We've been inundated in the past few weeks with opening opposing fan posts of " xxxx fan in peace" who all seem unusually eloquent and respectful. I know I'm an old cynic but can you see IP addresses Nick? I feel someone is multi-accounting and laughing at us. Perhaps I'm just paranoid. Well I am paranoid, but perhaps even more so than I had imagined. Anyhow if your serious Lawnmower, thanks and good luck cause we're fucked. Proper fucked!

If Turner is back fit with no long term problems then he should be the last player we should be selling on the cheap. If as fit as prior to injury then he will be a top premiership player worth a lot of money , but short sighted shitsu are only after getting as much back as possible for themselves

Exactly what I am saying, if he plays regularly between now and the end of the season he will be worth much more money than now so I don't see how it would make sense to flog him cheaply right now.

Because they don't intend on being here at the end of the season. With or without some of our top players the value of selling the club is probably about £5m. Their responsibility is to their shareholders only so they will try to get a bit more back now. If it was a long term business plan then the solution would not be to get rid of the valuable young players who will likely increase in value but to sell those whose contracts are due to expire or the high wage earners.

i have found myself saying "if it moves, SISU will sell it" quite often recently

however, with Ben Turner, I am going to have to change that.....

I don't suppose there's any mileage in it, but, just what if, a few Sky Blue players said, 'Well actually I don't want to be sold, I'm quite happy here at Coventry' we all hear of 'player power', well could / would it, work to get this bunch of 'asset strippers' out of OUR club.

To sell a commodity at a reduced price infers you are desperate for money, but stupidity reigns when that commodity could reasonably be worth twice / triple the price in a reasonably short space of time.

If as reported, we could have secured ALF (CCFC MAD - pre match chat with GH), in the close season, this surely goes to prove, beyond reasonable doubt that SISU are;
NOT FIT TO RUN THIS CLUB

It is also inferred that they are not bothered about protests, then what is the best way for Sky Blue fans to show their disaproval.

Come on you true Sky Blues !!!!!!!!!!!

No, I'm genuine mate. The only words of comfort I can give you is that we've been through it time and time again and are still here. Someone will see the potential, you've got a great ground and its a big city. It might be tough for some time now, but look at the likes of Southampton and Brighton, and i hate to say it Swansea, who've all been looking down the barrell and bounced back. One good thing about us (Cardiff) having 30 years of being mediocre at best, absolutely shit at worst was we got to see lots of different grounds and gained a bit of a siege mentality
