Do the coaches know about how hard Jamie Allen works though?

Robins is quite happy to praise Allen's technical ability too...

I can understand in terms of pure technical ability, maybe. Football's also about more than just that though isn't it, hence why Gyokeres is so impressive atm.

Yea , but let's remember vik is already playing for Sweden, do we think if sheaf was Swedish he'd be called up ? I highly doubt it

I mean, these are crazy arguments. I actually like Sheaf! When he got stick first season I found it harsh.

It's swung the other way now though, to defend at all costs.

The sheaf opinion on here at this point is mental, in a bad way

Totally irrational you'd think we had busquets in midfield

It is also possible that MR will go with 2 up front (maybe tonight?), leaving room for only 3 of the 6. Who plays then?

Why would we do that when we are getting good results with four in midfield?

I would not be surprised to see a bid for Sheaf during the January transfer window.

You'd have to imagine we will have bids , the best player at the club and its not even close

He's a good Championship player and been a great signing but Gyokeres, Hamer and O'Hare have far more ability.

So why didn’t we receive bids for Gyo and Hamer if they’re our best players?

Right so why are you arguing with me ? Bit weird

You responded to my post , not the other way around

Sheaf isn't the clubs best player , nor is he our most valuable .. this is hard to argue against

The big swede probably takes the title for both

More tongue in cheek , because the post made about him being the clubs best players was so absurd ... then why not ?

He isn't

Probably because in those games the opposition have looked to take the game to us. Wigan are probably going to set up in a more defensive pattern and sit deeper, allowing us less space to thread passes in from midfield and for Gyokeres to get in the space behind them. That said I have no problem with starting with the 4 in midfield and seeing how it pans out. MR can always change things round if the situation needs it. Don't think its 100% nailed on that MR starts with the 4 in midfield though.

Not defend at all costs, but come on. One was picked up by Arsenal as a kid then moved to a Championship club. The other at Rochdale before Burton and dropping to L1 before almost being let go when the club got promoted.

I could stand you infront of my old man he will tell you I specifically remember last season at QPR , I said dad watch sheaf how much he's come on .. he was awful that game BTW.

Sheaf started here quite poorly , got better until you could argue for a POTS spot and had regressed slightly up until pretty much 2 weeks ago .

I’m just playing mate. Honestly though I think technically he’s up there with Hamer O’Hare and Vik. Some of the balls he plays are unreal as are his recoveries. Just what you want in that position. He seems to get stick for any pass that doesn’t find its target while Hamer plays three in a row to the opposition with no comment. (Not you, generally)

@shmmeee Watford Saturday I watched him literally turn like an oil tanker and give the ball away 5 times in about 7 minutes only to come on here and have a couple fans say he was the best player on the pitch at half time ..

I really really don't need to say this , but it's not me with the irrational thoughts on Ben sheaf

Second half he was good , the team as a whole were mostly good

He'll have a spell in every game where he gives the ball away cheaply. And I'm not talking about 20 yard balls that try and split the opposition, I'm talking sinple short passes. It's so frustrating. He's got great ability, I think maybe it's a concentration thing.

I think people notice Sheafs misplaced passed more because it’s Sheaf. Also he’s significantly more involved than those he’s compared to. Allen for example averages 30 passes a game with a success rate of 82%. Sheaf is around 50 with 79% success. So yes I’m the average game Sheaf will give the ball away more often, but he’ll also pass it to a team mate more often.
