I’m going to go out on a limb here and say Harry Dimond who’s just graduated university and writes for Football League World isn’t a reliable source.

Forget about how well he/they have/haven't been playing this season, if we lose Sheaf and Milan this window, that would be a massive concern.

Maybe Sheaf has accepted that to get to the Premier League he needs to get promoted into it rather than a proven premier league club signing him.

Want a bit more money but happy for him to go, been an excellent player for us until this past 6 months, and that's probably partly what's around him and the weight of the captaincy.

If we can get close to 20 mill for Sheaf and MVE. We can look at starting to reshape the squad and get them upto speed for next season.

If it was increased to £10m up front then I would sell

He hasn't been the same all season and if it carries on we'd get less in the summer and it won't be from Leeds as they will be in the Prem and would probably look elsewhere for better

They’ve been poor this season but if we lose sheaf and MVE in this window without adequate replacement we’re genuinely relegation candidates

If it was double digits,be tempted.

but we need x2 midfielders then not just sheaf replacement - so IF that was done I’d be open. However based on current efforts to replacement hamer 18 months on, I’m not hopeful.

Absolutely huge risk if we let him go now. We need two in the door before he goes out. He’s a top notch championship midfielder. Our priority should be to keep him. If it was this time next year with 6 months of contract left it’s a different story.

Ready for Sheaf to leave for 8million.
Too right. A midfielder who passes to the opposition far too often & scores say 1 or 2 a season.

King got interviewed on sky the first game after he took over and, said we will not be selling our best players , since then, gykores, hamer, ohare and now possibly MVE and sheaf, pretty sure that our previous owners did the same and got rightly slaughtered for it, id be worried what his actual plans are if we let MVE and sheaf go, selling our good players and buying poor replacements ?

We will always let players go and thought he’d been up front on that.

Think the above related to January but could be wrong either way, we have to sell to buy that’s sadly the nature of the club and as far as I can see funds have been used to replace, like Gyok and Hamer.

Right to be concerned about the standard but MVE was brought in by this team. So I’d wait and see

£8m would be good. I'm sure Doug will do his best to edge it towards £10m.

Sheaf has been poor this season and missed a decent chunk due to injury.

If he continues his poor form and gets injured again, you won't get £8m.

The issue here, as ever, is what Sheaf wants.

Sheaf hasn’t looked too bothered at times this season and that might well be linked to the club turning down offers in the summer.

If Sheaf wants out, then King will have to maximise income. £8 million sounds a lot, given his value will start to drop.

We really can’t afford to lose another midfielder but if this bid happens, Cov will probably have to sell.

If any club bids, then they will have spoken to the players agent first, so the potential buying club will already have a shrewd idea that a deal can be done.

If this is a genuine possibility, I have serious concerns that we could get a decent replacement during the January transfer window.
The inflated fees demanded by clubs at this time of year don't represent "good value".

If we leave it with 6 months to go, the sensible option for Sheaf is to run his contract down and leave for free

I think the answer is that we won’t get a permanent replacement. The club will more likely get a couple of loans to steady the ship and wait to spend in the summer.

Let's be honest, it would be a step up. They will be able to pay him more than us and are looking likely to be top two.
Whether or not he would get much game time next year if they do go up remains to be seen.

Different being signed and targeted by a team already in the Prem than being used a a player to try to get them there

But we’ve never replaced hamer, that’s been our problem, midfields been shocking since he left, we’re light as it is, we can’t afford to get rid of sheaf or MVE, 2 of our best players struggling for form in a poor side, we need to be careful else we’ll be writing next season off as well

I’d imagine we’d bring in loans until the summer. If other clubs know we’re desperate and got money to spend, we all know what’ll happen.

To be fair to the club, they tried to sign midfielders. Bids were lodged for at least 3 players, probably a 4th. The attempts were rebuffed.

Gyokeres, Hamer and COH wanted to leave. Not much King could do.

If MVE and Sheaf want out, the club will have to sell.

That’s what I mean, sell MVE and sheaf and 100% we won’t pay for the quality of player we need to replace them, squad quality gets poorer every season, we need to be very careful

Get a good progressive midfield replacement lined up and do the deal
Sheaf is a big part of our slow, backwards, sideways, lethargic problem.

Think he might recapture a bit of form surrounded by better players but he's a poor excuse fior a captain in a team struggling to find its way so Id be happy to offload and reinvest the money.

i'd be shocked at this one because a) leads have better cdm options at the club and b) unless it is a stupid offer we know we need to add rather than subtract with regards to the midfield

it's the jan window loads of nonsense will get written between now and feb
