I think he may have expected a cross, but Sheff just leathered it-he's the only player we have with that kind of goalscoring instinct IMO. He also usually has a great understanding with Bell, and if we are going to stay up, that will be vital. Most of our positive, passing football last season went through Bell and McSheffrey.

Clingan and Hussy for me the latter is very consistent

I thought Bell was one of the better players. Has a great touch, rarely loses the ball, the only player who can accurately cross a ball and spends half the game covering for our totally inept left back.

Its half time and I am sat here wondering if anyone has seen Bell? I know he came out with the rest of the team before the match but I haven't seen him since. Just hope Deegan Comes on second half to add some spice and grit.

Bell was indeed one of the better players yesterday by far. Some goon in front of me was moaning about him all game shouting pass forward, pass forward, Bell your shit get off etc....well if the said gentleman had bothered to look beyond Bell He would have realised (as Bell did) there was limited space and generally nobody in front of him in space.

Am I the only one who doesn't rate Hussey? Seems like everyone here loves him.

But you are commenting. Bell did well.

I missed the goal so I cant comment as I was still working. But I kept an eye on bell in the first half and he hardly had a touch. This was down to bad positioning.

If passing to the opposition gained points then we would be top of the league with hussy.

I must be in the minority then because I think Hussey is a great player.

Torchy son,
Do you mean great as in ordinary, I think your description, is a little over embellished, and if he were a great player, he wouldn't be in our shirt, would he?
but I think of him, as not a bad player at all. better than some we've seen.

Best regards....fRom sunny bedworthshire...

No you are not alone i think he is appalling, certainly defensively. Constatnly wandering aimlessly around leaving 1/2 players unmarked on the right wing and thus forcing the left midfielder to cover all the time. Distribution and crossing ability is also abysmal.

He has glimpses - looked much better on the attack Saturday but defensively looked naive and sluggish still.

On another note, this topic was started during the match. How do any of you get internet reception inside the Ricoh?!

i like hussey however he needs to improve his marking, he never seems to be close to opposition players and ends up making alot of last ditch tackles

also he overhits wayy too many crosses

I think Hussey has been very solid defensively. He over hit 3 crosses 2nd half against Derby, but otherwise that aspect of his game generally impresses me. If we had strikers who moved or attacked the ball in the area, that may help...

Our most effective spell Saturday was when Hussey ran with the ball four times for around 10-15 yards and then played cracking passes to McSheffrey. Amazing how selective the memory can be once you've decided a player is crap..

It's difficult at half-time. The couple of times I've tried during the match it's been alright.

I think this is just that city fans needing someone to blame every year. Can't we accept that we've got a tiny squad so not everyone is going to be amazing and get behind the team, rather moaning for 90 minutes about what Bell has or hasn't done? Maybe in the past when we've had a bigger squad and you've seen Best not bothering to chase the ball or Bothroyd just being completely useless it was ok. But now we've no one else so support the useless fuckers in the squad!

Best and Bothroyd highlights the point well, tbf..I think either now would prove more than handy! But of course, they were crap and lazy for us..funny how many players that is true for, eh?

That said..thought Tabb looked a bit porky on Saturday.
