Looks like he has retired for good after winning the French Title.

Not only a great player (regardless of whether he went to the American league a bit too early or not) but also a great ambassador for the game and an immensely proud Englishman.

Good luck to him whatever he does in the future.

More style over substance, but still a good player. Best of luck to him.

Full of admiration for the bloke. Like LG said, a proud Englishman who was a fantastic ambassador for the game, but also this country.

I am sure we beat their reserves at HR with Beckam and others playing?

Hopefully he stays in the game and maintains his reputation for being a great role model for kids, so many people turned to the game thanks to Becks, Giggs etc

Yeah I can see him becoming a coach somewhere, I could definitely see him being in the England setup somewhere. He's had a great career and worked his balls off for it at times when he probably could have just coasted, he seems like a really nice bloke too so fair play to him!

If he hadn't scored that goal from the half way line would he have been as famous?

Not a great player by any means. No left foot , no pace and shit in the air. And people tend to forget he wasn't always a role model.... What with the infidelity and petulant sending offs etc

The iconic goal for me was the free kick at old Trafford in the last minute to equalise at 2-2
