We've analysed the Championship since the 1995-96 season to see how many points are required - on average - to secure survival:

An average of around 47 points has been enough to survive the drop in the Championship, but the magic number has varied significantly over the years. Just 40 points would have beaten the drop (with a superior goal difference) in both 2011-12 and 2015-16, whilst 54 points were not enough to keep Peterborough up in 2012-13.

If we go on the average we need at least 4 wins or 3 wins and 3 draws.

For me 4 wins and 3 draws should do it. Although 5 wins would be ideal.

Based on the average above, SW and Rotherham would need 6-7 wins.

I can’t see Rotherham and SW getting more than 15pts in the remaining fixtures.

Sheffield weds have won 9 in 32 they’re not all of a sudden going to win 7 in 14 especially when they have to play 7 of the top 9

Same with Rotherham. If we hit 50 points that’ll keep us safe.

Based on the season so far, you'd imagine we will get around 3 wins 4 draws 6 defeats

Which will be 13 points from 13 matches

48 points

Football doesn't work that way, so I still think we will get 5 wins

Bit of a curve ball with Sheff Weds appointing Darren Moore.

SW have just appointed Darren Moore as manager. Very highly rated....
He's gone from Donny, in a great position to go up from Lg1, to Wednesday, he must be a very confident man...

plus size of the club. It's still a basket case of a club in terms of the owner and his decision making.

Our game with Rotherham is a big one a week on Saturday, in the short time between now and that fixture we're playing two and Rotherham are playing catchup and have an extra game. I think we should be absolutely going for it when we play them

Darren Moore done well at won by and West Brom fans I know liked him. Any other circumstance I would root for him

They may get a bump this time round. Worrying

I feel like just now is the first time I've properly taken a look at the full table in a while, I only tend to look at 12th and downwards, almost feels like 2 leagues in 1 for me. Can't believe how far Bournemouth have dropped from being a top 3 team!

Moore is a half decent manager tbh... Could go either way really, although I expect them to play better football for starters

in the fact he gone to that club, they’re a basket case club. He must be on a good wedge.

Yeah, just said similar on the other thread. I get they're a massive club & the chance at turning them around would be a huge draw but just not sure long term success is achievable with their current ownership.

Nothing will stop the squeaky bum time - we still have to win the key games - we are notoriously bad at doing that however we can surprise someone !

Basically do what we did last time but even better and with a different front 2 as they would have analysed Max Walker thoroughly so how about we play Baka Gyo because according to many on here they have 0 talent and imo that should work in our favour as they will get conplacent and they will both score a hat trick

You'd think we'd get our traditional 3 points against Wycombe, then if we can turn over Huddersfield, Rotherham and Derby it nearly doesn't matter what else happens.

We have a favourable run of games in March. We need to pick up points while we can and we’ll see where we end up , the team have to focus on their own performances and pick up points themselves rather than relying on other results
