Just had a meal at this place and have to say the 'wild boar burger' is the best burger I've ever had. The chips were average at best but the burger is second to none.

It's worth trying if you fancy a decent pub lunch.

Last time I went there the service was shockingly slow. I agree, the food there is decent though.

My food outlet of preference at the Moment is the Old Smithy in Church Lawford. Awesome food at awesome prices.

Have to agree Si80, the place was virtually empty and took them a good half hour to cook it.

Rich - any recommendations on what to get??

I usually go for the King Henry VIII special. 24oz Rump cooked to perfection.

If you visit this site you can also get free wine if your bill is over £25.

Fully support the King Henry VII special notion. Great food at the Old Smithy. Never knew about the wine offer though. That'll keep me in the wifes good books. Cheers Rich

No problemo. Have you tried any of the other ones in the chain? The Man At Arm, Bitteswell is nice. Exactly the same food, just a different pub.

I went to Wood Farm Brewery last night and the food was pretty good home cooked style. The beer however was out of this world. Absolutely amazing.

Rich, Have you tried The Black Boy in Knowle? the food is class and there's a huge beer garden out the back, It's right next to the canal and there's a foot path, it's quite nice to have a walk down there, there's an animal sanctuary near the bridge as well which is quite nice to walk around.

Very reasonable. Think it was about £8.95 for an 8oz rump steak. It was lovely too. They have a little play area for the kids at the far end of the pub garden so they aren't running around annoying everyone just trying to have a decent meal.

Only problem is it's quite far from my place.

It is a bit of a drive, but the meal & the surroundings are lovely, go up for sunday lunch, take a walk up the canal, visit the animals. Nice way to spend a few hours.
