Why is it so hard to believe??

18/19
Bayliss
GS - 9
Assist - 7

Shipley
GS - 9
Assist 6

Shipley played less minutes - people have opinions on which are better players and when their stats are that close you cant really question these can you.

And as mentioned previously Bayliss seems to have an attitude problem, where as Shipley is genuinely one of the nicest footballs iv met

He needs to be a bit more selective with his mates, surely that's obvious?! Yh he was on holiday, he was shit-faced in public!?

A mate who’s at the same football club as him, and they were away for summer! And where did it show he was shit-faced?! Genuinely interested as to where you saw this. I saw him for like 2 seconds in the video. Not as if he was found like Jack Grealish - and even then Grealish was on holiday too! Couldn’t care less if they get pissed on their break.

You’re offering an opinion on who is better purely based on stats and not what you see?

I did think it was interesting that this came out today, the day after Wilson being offered a lucrative new contract came out. Made me wonder if the club had a priority list of generating cash that was being ticked off.

Tbh I think they’re onto something when they mention attitude. Like a lethargic drop of the shoulders look, and ‘walking can’t be arsed to move’ thing. I dunno though.

I'd be sad if he goes. The bar is so high in terms of his potential and it would be a shame not to see him in sky blue again. If we can afford to I'd want to keep him just in case we make it to the Championship.

Given a bit of fine tuning and further experience (only 1 full season completed) he'll start producing more of those stats and performances the average joe notices.

You’re more likely to see it before or after the ball is given away by him. Stature and posture is commonly related to attitude and mood in all fields of life, so I suppose so.

I like Bayliss as a player but thought he could have contributed more goals and assists for somebody in that position last season.

Can play full-back, wide midfield and central midfield. Bayliss can only play in his own little role....
He’s poor in all 3 positions. Not really much of an asset being inadequate in a variety of positions.

lmao its crazy

hes a lanky skinny guy, its gonna look like hes not a fucking dog chasing a ball on pitch, doesnt mean he aint trying.

and he went ibiza so he must be hickman mk 2

if we had got promoted last year the haters would be saying hes had 2 magnificent seasons ina row, but their frustration at not getting promoted means they take it out on young lads like bayliss, thomas and sterling. ridiculous

People have short memories. Bayliss struggled in the second half of last season after playing almost 12 months of continuous professional football after never having done it before. He can move past a player and drive with the ball like many at this level can only dream of despite still developing his game. The secret footballer was right when he said football fans know the least about football.

Really like Bayliss but for the right price and sell on clause I would listen to offers.

Does he get in the team ahead of Allen, Kelly or Bright (if we get him)? Would he want to be shifted out right again? I think Westbroke and Shipley are ample back up to Kelly and Allen.

Having said that if the offers aren't right and we can sell him as a Championship player next summer you can add 50/75% on his fee and probably command a similar fee to those we are receiving now if we fail to get promoted.

Competition for his place may see him give an extra 20% and improve as a player. Trust Robins' judgement on this one.

I genuinely think the fatigue from the step up a league, a new position and playing with Doyle (who only had one gear - 'jog') was just too much for him having broken into the team midseason. We've become spoilt as a fanbase by a couple of decent seasons, wishing the riches of our academy away before we've had the full benefit.

I do agree Bayliss was poor during the second half of the season, but to suggest Shipley is more valuable to us is bordering on delusional. Shipley is a trier, but an extremely limited player with poor technical ability. He will never get a sniff of Championship football in his career, whereas Bayliss will play there for 1-2 seasons max before playing higher.

I don't think Bayliss has a bad attitude. He can have periods where things aren't going his way that possibly affects his confidence due to the way he plays but I don't think he ever gives up.

He's also a much more naturally talented footballer than Shipley, but Shipley does try and make up for it with the workrate - he can't afford to let his head drop at any point or he'll get found out. He's a useful squad player but not a first teamer.

Sambou won the U23 league and top scored with Everton last year. Got offered a new long term contract but has supposedly turned it down in favour of first team football. Championship teams are sniffing around and a few of the lesser PL clubs are rumoured to be looking too, as well as clubs in Germany.

Shipley is a decent player.

Bayliss is better and will play at a higher level.

I like them both.

Wasn’t even my point to start with anyway. Shrug.

I’d be less likely to get a job if my body language was shite. No more said about it, it’s already boring.
