Yep, he was great in that game. Maybe he's carrying an injury or just out of form, cause it's like he's not the same player at the moment.

Shouldn't write him off just yet.

Typical cov fans though otis. We're doing same with kent not long ago and Murphy before that

Maybe cos I'm now in thirties but seen it all before. Better to take a deep breath and just wait. Next week we win and once again this stuff goes away till the next loss.

With Kent and Murphy you could always see the ability underneath still even when things aren't going their way. Can't say that about Fortune.

Fortune has been completely Dr. Jekyll and Hyde, utter dross after his first game.

It wasn't just one bad result was it? It was a run of draws in which we'd scored 1 goal in about 4 games. I never said it was season over just that it was a slight concern, it was just you and others getting all a bit over sensitive and starting slating me as negative.

Fortunes had 1 good game in 10 appearances, scored 1 goal (a pen). Let's get the champagne out.

Got to say, and I thought this when Kevin Kyle was here. Lone target man is a thankless job and you rely entirely on the quality of those around you. There were a few times today, not just when Fortune had the ball, that there was 0 forward runs around him. His job is to bring others in mostly, if they're not there to bring in you look silly. I thought he looked better when Bass came on to partner him.

He does use his body well, though got to say Murphy gave him a run for his money in that department today.

I really don't think we're in a position to be cancelling contracts or whatever.

Haha there you go again. Over reacting and then saying it's everyone else that's too sensitive

I've always wondered if Conor THomas could play at centre back. He has the physique and height and doesn't have to do anything Beckenbaueresque (which he can't anyway)! What do others reckon?(awaits howls of laughter)

I believe Vincelot can also play in defence if needed. Obviously he is better for us in midfield, but in an emergency ....

He'd be out every week with concussion from heading the ball or that would give him a fifty please head.:-o

Call me stupid but after today's goal I think he'll be on the bench again this Saturday and may well get on again. I have a hunch we may have another gem on our hands

That's a bit harsh, he's only had a few minutes.

Wasn't there a better photo the Telegraph could use for 'young striker impresses teammates'? This is how I imagine I look when playing:

There could actually be a lucrative career for a photographer who specialises in taking attractive, dynamic photos of footballers.
The publicity photos I have seen are mostly truly horrendous. And that photo of Bassala Sambou is a glaring example.
