Barton ,give him a run ,Thomas has had more than a fair crack at it ,and id not be to quick in letting both Barton or Baker go ,id wait to see what happens with SP,if he goes and gives a couple the nod then Barton and Baker could be our only decent players with any sort of experience,

Westley I believe definitely did it at Preston and I'm sure he's not alone.

Fair enough, but also as FP says I'm not sure that his management style really worked at Preston. Wolves have done it too, I've just dug up, but then they've got resources far beyond ours. Can't find anyone else doing it at our level, in truth.

I'd Prefer we played Thomas tonight with Fleck if he is fit to play, against cardiff barton would be to lightweight, at least CT will break down play more.

but would much prefer to see the likes of George Boateng sitting in the Centre of the Park, or Mcalister, or Dennis Wise

Out of the two, Thomas every day. Whenever I've seen Barton play I've felt like watching the game with my hands over my eyes and fingers slightly apart to try and make him look better. Dreadful every time.

However, Thomas wasn't really cutting it the second half of the season, and I agree with whoever said we need another midfielder who has experience. Fleck can be great, but is easily pushed off the ball, and unfit according to SP (which I think is a disgrace - to be unfit I mean!)

Barton has no future at the club. No manager here has rated him and when he went to fleetwood couldn't get a game. So RFC agreed with all the managers Barton played for - no one who sees him on a daily basis rates him.

Robins certainly rated Barton. He even said he had a touch of the Tommy Hutchison about him.
Yes. Laughable but true.

I was often compared to Micky Quinn in my Sunday League days

Why didn't he play him then?

Given that he's not had any injury lay offs in the 2 years he's been here, he featured in just 36 of the 93 league games to date, which given we paid a decent fee for him is pretty poor.

People talking about players going out of club because they weren't given a squad number, but Seabourne first to leave (contact cancelled) and had a squad number I believe?

Fuck knows. He said he was a very good footballer. The sort of player you could build a team around.
I'm just saying what he said.
Although Robins did say he himself had sky blue blood.

True, but that doesn't really contradict people saying that it's looking certain that both Barton and baker will be gone before the end of the window, given that they have been told to find new clubs and not been given a squad number. As much as the fans might want them back in (and I agree it's madness to pay them but not use them), I really can't see either of them playing for us again.

Funnily enough I was often called Robert Rosario until people started to rate him. Then I was just a shit Robert Rosario.

I think you're last sentence says it all. IIRC he was also very complementary about Reece Brown and Conor Henderson and David Bell in that article...

With two important league games coming up, a televised game could be a good shop window to try and get rid?
