On PPG after nearly 50 years in non league. Great achievement and Ian Evatt has got them playing some very nice stuff.

I know a Barrow fan. - he will be beside himself with joy (even though he loves on his own)

If he's beside himself with joy after loving on his own I wouldn't shake his hand for a while

We had a barrow. It used to be a wheel barrow, but the wheel fell off.

Oops - oh well, if I’m going to make a typo, it may as well be a good one!

Their relegation to non league was a bit of a scandal really so to deny them a return would have been a travesty

Why were they sent down 3rd bottom? League politics?

They’d only been in the relegation spots twice whereas a couple of clubs - I think Crewe and Hartlepool? - were always down there and frequently re-elected

Hereford has beaten Newcastle and were a bit of a story

They were relegated as the teams wanted them out due to their location. It was apparently the furthest club away from a motorway

They were shafted again in the late 90’s I think over some finance issues.

Makes sense, election was certainly used to keep other clubs in well past their sell by date.
