You may think they are a long way clear, but they have a tough run in. If they lose their next two games, Cardiff at home & Hull away, and we beat Burnley and Milwall, we could be going into the Doncaster game knowing a win would lift us out the bottom 3 whatever the result between Barnsley and Bristol. In fact we could conceivably be above both. I know it's a lot of if's but I still feel we could get out of this mess.

I doubt anyone is disagreeing with you, just the reality is we have failed to win the 6 pointers. Forest away, peterborough at home and Bristol, we have failed at the vital time. The opportunity to avoid the drop is there. I just can not see us taking it.

We can't catch Barnsley.

We would either need to win 3 out of 4 games or win 2 and draw 2.

Not going to happen. Barnsley need just one point and if you recall, just got a credible draw at high flying Blackpool.

They may be poor, but that result there proves they can pull the odd result out of the bag.

We can win 3 out of 4. Can't see Barnsley beating Cardiff or Hull and think Bristol C will beat them. They could be in trouble. I live near Barnsley and even their own fans think they could be in trouble.

However, absolutely agree that one shock result and they are safe.

Barnsley are virtually safe - 1 point should see them safe.

It wouldn't surprise me if they got a point on Saturday against Cardiff at home...they are no great shakes.

I've been positive up till now, but that result on Monday kicked the stuffng out of me. And if it's done that to me then I hate to think what it's done to the players.

The other thing is, I don't care how important that story was that the telegraph printed yesterday, I don't think they should've printed it now. If there is any chance that the unrest about finances and SISU had any effect on the form in the first half of the season then this was not the time to release the story. They should've waited till everybody knew one way or the other about what league we'd be in next year.

Highly unlikely maybe, but ''can't''?

In my opinion I meant. In theory yes of course, but practically no. I just can't see us catching them. That's what I meant. Didn't word it quite right.

I was believing the great escape was on before the last weekend - but clutching at straws comes to mind now.

We must keep believing, even if survival is unlikely. The fans must purvey the message to the players that it is still possible. I'd rather us give it a shot in the final four matches rather than keel over and die.

Barnsley getting beat twice in two isn't out of the question and it will certainly be a result we'll be looking out for on Saturday. If that happens they could easily get the jitters going into the final two. That would make the Bristol Barnsley game a very nervy affair.

First things first though, in order to create any nerves and jitters we have to win our next two. Do that and we could well be back in the hunt again.

fact is if we beat burnley we are RIGHT BACK in it, a draw keeps us within 1 result but considering we are not guranteed to millwall we really need to be going for all 3 points

a loss and a burnley loss its a missed matchday with not many to spare

lose and bristol wn and its over.

I notice you omit us beating Pompey at home from your list of failed 6-pointers. Yes, we were poor against Bristol, but unlucky against Posh and well deserved of the Pompey victory. I see we've as much chance against Burnley as we did against Hull away; and have confidence for both the Millwall and Doncaster games - nervy though they'll doubtless be

We wont win our games so don't rely on others!!

Dont think Barnsley will beat Bristol City therefore we are doomed.Lets be realistic I don't even think we will beat Doncaster or Millwall a draw is more realistic:thinking about::thinking about::thinking about:

Disagree just a tad there young MMM. Hull were just starting a poor run of form and Burnley have now just won two in a row and appear to be coming into form.

Burnley play to their potential and they will beat us. Hard to tell half the time though which Burnley team will turn up.

I am very concerned about this game and I really cannot see anything other than defeat unless Burnley are not quite firing on all cylinders.

There is a similar thread on our forum.

Barnsley will stay up. They will not lose all four, they will pick up points somewhere.

I just hope it isn't at Ashton Gate...
