We could learn a lot from them. Of Course, we all know their story, but, interestingly enough, they only spent £3 million in the summer, signing two hidden gems , Freiser and Helik, for £1.6 million , and brought in Herbie Kane for £1.4 , plus, they brought in Daryl Dike and Matty James (among others) in on loan. With their pressing style , only spending £3 million , great recruitment and catapulting themselves into the play offs two years after getting promoted, we could learn a lot from them

Doesn’t their ownership have stakes in a few other clubs so they can get rid of players easier and sign players levels above what they usually could?

They do indeed own a few clubs, but to be fair none of the players they signed this summer were from any of their owners’ other clubs

They sold a couple of players when they got promoted then spent over £5m on new players, they started from a far different base than us.

True, but their recruitment is something Robins and co should take notes from

Would their two foreign signings even meet the points criteria for a work permit now? There are going to be far less 'hidden gems' from abroad and a very different market this summer.

Here I am.

What we’ve achieved this season is fantastic, and somewhat a mini miracle, but in the summer of 2019 we sold our best players and very nearly paid the price with relegation, if it wasn’t for Wigan’s problems we would have been in league one this season. It’s easy to look at us now sat in a play off place, and lord our approach, but next season when we’re in a relegation battle for most of it, no one will be wanting to copy our strategy.

I'd argue our recruitment model is already better than theirs.
Big test this summer for everyone though with needing to look into alternative markets.

He’ll probably be back out on loan by then if he’s at a top 6 club, but if not he’ll have every chance you’re right. Especially if he ends up at Chelsea they’ve been in 4 of the 7 finals and won it twice.

Are you confusing Champions League with Europa League?

No we’ll not go down, we’ll come good after Christmas like the last 3 seasons, it’s the first half that’ll have us in bother again. Following year we’ll have another comfortable season.

I can see you pushing for Europe next season when you go up. The prem won’t know what’s hit it

We’ll not go up, Brentford and Bournemouth are years and millions in front of us, it’s all a question of how we reinvest in the summer, if we spend it all, like we have the last two summers, and our recruitment committee continue to get it right we’ll be in a decent position to push for the playoffs again the season after next.

We’ll hold our own, we’re capable of beating them, as we’ve already shown this season, so I can’t write us off 100%, but ultimately I think they’ll have just too much quality for us in the end, I can see us winning one of the games but not all 3.

It depends a lot on form Barnsley have lost on a run of games, bmouth and Brentford winning games so confidence will be a big thing.
