I'd settle for 1 in row right now.

Keith Hill is the reason.

I have wanted him at City for years.

He seriously doesn't take nonsense from anybody and will go on to manage at a bigger club than Barnsley.

And to think we usually whipped them at the Ricoh every season by 4 goals.

Scoring 4 goals. Those were the days.

And on the lowest budget in the league. Doubt they've got players on 8k a week.

Shows that Hill gets the best out of his players whereas thorn hasn't a scobby.

Yeah, Keith Hill was great at Rochdale. They had a cracking team.

I don't think we have anybody on £8k a week if that's what our best players are being offered as an improved contract. Also, have Barnsley got the lowest budget in the league?

There's no way their wage budget is smaller than ours - we couldn't even financially compete with them for Drinkwater, and i imagine players like Ranger, Drinkwater, Rob Edwards, Vaz Te and Andy Gray, etc will all be on decent money, granted it depends on what % of Rangers and Drinkwaters wages they are paying

hang on a sec

I thought your players were only as good as the table, thats what I was lambasted for when i said the manager makes a big difference

If they still had robins, they could be competing with us now..

A manager DOES make a difference !!, FACT !!

Of course it does. Daft to say otherwise and absolutely crazy just to simply assume that no other manager could do any better than Andy Thorn, who of course still very much remains a novice in the management stakes.

So your telling me Edwards, Vaz Te and Andy Gray are on more money then Eastwood, Craine, Clingan and Wood? Doubt it very much.

Why not? Vaz Te was at Bolton for a long time, hibs could afford his wages, rob Edward's has been in and around the premier league with wolves and blackpool, and Andy Gray is a veteran of the championship - Jon Parkin is on £9.5k per week, so why would Gray not be on a similar wage?

"Last I heard was that Gray is highest earner on £7500 p/w."

That is hearsay not a fact.

Have you ever been there? it's a dump so it stands to reason that they've got less money than us

How is hearsay from their own fans valid? We don't know how much our players are actually on, unless they have showed you their actual wage slip or whether you work on payroll for ccfc.

I said more valid then your reasoning that Parkin was on 9.5k (Every club has different wage structure) and based on a player that USED to play in the Premier league. I know how much a few players are on and needless to say, 2 of them are on 8k a week.

Jon Parkin has never played in the premier league and has commanded a combined fee of £375k in his entire career, where as Andy Gray has made 49 PL appearances and has attracted a combined transfer fee of £2.05m. It's not like for like, Gray is a better player.

How do you know how much our players are on?

I said the other day I was really impressed with Barnsley this season, I challenge anyone who thinks there squad is 17 points better than ours. I don't know which of our clubs has more money available but I think it is a fair assumption to say we are fairly close judging by the fact we have finished in similar positions the last few years and now have close attendances also.

They have brought a fair few players in this season, where as we have cut at least £3.5m of our wage bill. To put it in to context - we couldn't compete financially with them for Drinkwater.

Well last season I would argue we had a much higher wage bill by some distance than Barnsley with Doyle, Carsley, Eastwood, Mcindoe earning big wages on top of Turner, King, Gunnar, Westwood.

I don't think there would be a huge difference in our wage budgets, not one to justify us being 17 points behind them anyway.
