After watching the first 3 games this season I have been hugely impressed with TM. I am not sure if anyone has noticed but we have been deploying a very similar system (attacking fullbacks aside) to that used by the European champions. I know you cannot compare the level we are using it at but the theory and principals are very close.

Barca have Neymar (Maddison), Messi (Lameries) and Suarez (Armstrong) they link play and generally are the three left to unlock the door of the opposition.

We in Maddison, Lameries and Armstrong have been doing very much that and the way they interchange and play between the lines has been a joy to watch. Therefore I cannot tell you how frustrating it is to see 2 of the 3 of them missing for the Burton Game and to have Madison out for months. I feel with the 3 of them we would have the most technically gifted top third in this league by a street.

This shows the crying need we have for players NOW as we will not be in the top 6 and will loose momentum if we rely on the other options available to us.

barcelona are also brilliant at regaining possession where they normally hunt in packs of three. from front to back they all do there fair share of defending hence why its difficult to keep the ball away from them.

Can't believe anybody let him get away with Lameiras = Messi !

(may forgive him if Lameiras hits a hat trick on Monday, but even then.....)

Was more comparing systems offensively than players individually. I agree with some off the ball comments without possession we dont replicate their style, nor could we.

Although we managed to get two built whereas they've still got the builders out for theirs so we've got them licked there. You lazy sod, Gaudi.

I went to Barcelona for a fortnight with my wife about 12 years ago. We sat in a nice restaurant down by the posh port area on our own (because the rest of Barcelona went out for their evening meal about 4 hours after we did - never good at adapting me!), A waitress brought out a solitary dish (hadn't ordered) with 2 small items on it, plonked it down and then disappeared. After about ten minutes (and having run out of things to say to each other - we'd been married a year or so!) we decided to eat the said items (a minute version of pigs in blankets, IIRC). Waitress then appeared, and we ordered a nice meal etc. When I got the bill, we had been charged a fiver for the unrequested dish. Grrrrr.

Anyway, I feel better for getting that off my chest!

In fact, just like Coventry, they have two. Their second one, the Gaudi one, does have a roof now though.

Point of order, but that's their Holy Trinity, not their St Michael.

From what I have seen of Burge I would imagine their reserve team defenders would sadly be as good in goal.

Is the new stadium Tim, being based on Gaudi? At least the construction timescale.
