Where is he?

Ironic that so many are calling for Taveres when clearly our weaknesses are in attacking midfield.

We know he's not ready, but I'm surprised he's not been on the bench at least.

Tbh of all the young players only Eccles is looking strong and confident when training with the first team
It's a hard step to make as not all the senior players are supportive

Well Tavares confidence won’t be helped by Robins not even giving him 10 mins when the team are crying out for a goal and an alternative type of player to Gykores. Gykores and Waghorn are a little similar …

There was a point where he was coming on for 10 minute cameos quite regularly iirc. Promotion season from league 1?

Yeah, why would you support someone who’s potentially going to steal your job. I imagine these are fairly standard rivalries.

What makes you say that out of interest?
Pretty sure that he was not getting into Grimsby's starting 11 towards the end of his loan before Christmas??? (Don't know if injury related or due to form/abilty?)

That means nothing it’s about gathering experience in a first team environment he’s had 12 months and from next season it’s down to him as I said big season for him but he has qualities, pace, direct and another 12 months under his belt.

Well if he wasn't playing he wasn't gathering much experience!

I imagine they'll get him to a national league team ASAP.

Feel sorry for Billson who would have had a full league 2 season under his belt as number 1 and got bloody smashed first game and hasn't played since and now god knows where he is. Isn't in the match day warm ups or the squad for 23s

Based on?

He couldn't even get game time in non-league football, he isn't going to step up the championship next year. Maybe longer term if he fulfills some of his early promise but he needs to get games.

Joel Bagan got 2 games at Notts County and was then sent back. He showed more composure on Tuesday for his goal than half our team has this season. Not sure Bapaga IS going to make it but a failed experience is still an experience and perhaps it is something he needed to give him the drive to succeed after being fast tracked to our squad at 16.

Tavares probably can't believe his luck at the moment. Essentially a nobody in the professional game and he's on the cusp of regular football for a top half Championship side. This is likely as good as it ever gets for him, he should just enjoy it.

Interesting. Anyone in particular unsupportive? Didn’t think we had anyone like that in the squad!

I get that (experienced it even), but with such a small and, as it stands, depleted squad, I’m surprised it’s going on. For example, it’s not like we have two senior players for each position.

This is very true. The National League is very unforgiving. I see lots of young loaned players at this level and very few stand out . It's good experience to play with decent older pros but that's all it's about really

It's the same all the way through the development stages. I've lost count of the number of players who "trial" at 9 - 15 years of age at academy level, who get injured during sessions.
