Never heard of them. What sort of sound do they have, Daz? Akin to any other band so I have some idea? There was a Celtic rock group called Toss the feathers, they were from Manchester bloody brilliant
Been meaning to dig out all my old Radiohead stuff. Must get on to that asap.I've been listening to old Radiohead (pre Kid A), Supergrass, Smashing Pumpkins, Mansun and Super Furry Animals a lot recently. Mainly live performances on Youtube.
Its hard to put them in a bracket Otis, they played some great instrumental stuff I'd say they were influenced by moving hearts and also one of their songs were in my opinion influenced by Dirty old town it's called a requiem for the innocent
They were pretty big on the U.K. Folk and Irish scene early to mid 90s brilliant live
They used to always finish with devil road down to Georgia

Listened to Travis debut album the other day for the first time in years. That was quality before they went dreary and mainstream.
Love SFA, Radiohead, mansun too. SFA were quality at the Kasbah 4-5 years a go.

Cow Pie, sorry that was desperateSteeley Dan
Yeah, Gomez! Got their first two albums too and loved them. Really thought they were going to be massive, but they seemed to just fizzle out after a quick flutter with stardom.Oh Gomez, their first 2 albums are quality. Love doves and feeder too and some manics and garbage, Idlewild and terrorvision never really did it for me.

I forgot to add Idlewild, Garbage, Terrorvision, Gomez, Doves, Feeder and Manics (pre 1998). I can tell i'm getting old as there's very little from this century that I regularly listen to!
I've been meaning to give Gaz Coombes a chance so cheers for reminding me, got it playing now!
I was into Gary Numan in the late 70's ealy 80's,Recently discovered His album from late 2013 Splinter.

I remember the Furious Apples for sure.Where do I start? ...
I Love Radiohead too but I've been catching up on some of the older stuff from my formative years... Rezillos, Dury, New York Dolls, Talking Heads, etc. Another band I dearly loved were The Waterboys, been revisiting some of their stuff.
Also love Weezer, Suede, REM, Kate Bush, Green Day, Fun Lovin Criminals, The Wonderstuff to name a few.
Does anyone remember an 80's band from Leamington called Mummy Calls? Or a Cov band called The Furious Apples?
Just been listening to some of my old vinyl as i bought a new amp, speakers and record deck a few weeks back. I dusted of Document and Green by R.E.M they are brilliant, I don't think I have listened to them for 20+ years.
I remember the Furious Apples for sure.
I went to see them at the N.E.C when they were on the Green tour when I was about 14, It was my first proper gig and I have never forgotten it.Quality! Saw them live at Leicester Demontford, one of the best gigs I've ever been to
Did you ever see them Otis?
I saw them down the poly when I was about 14. Great band.
Didn't the lead singer used to run a night down the Campbell? Sure it was him who a a fire in his flat, lost loads of demos from bands who sent them to him trying to get a gig down there. There were some big names among them the stone roses been one apparently.
