Name another MK Dons player from last season, go on, I dare you to. They were the 2nd best TEAM in an average league, Baker played a small part in their success.

Wow. If 'Bakes' scored two in a pre season match against a World XI I wouldn't give a flying fuck as its pre season, let alone against a load of nuggets.
Baker was an alright player for us, nothing more nothing less but because he interacted with the fans like Gunnarrsson he's seen as some kind of modern day hero. Both average players.

I could name plenty of players but personally I think he made a significant difference to their team. In my opinion one of Pressley main failings was his handling of players in and out of the club. I think it was a mistake to release him. And it's one area now we are particularly short now.
The year is 2037, Coventry have finally had their streak of Premier League titles ended after Chelsea finally prevent them from claiming their 5th league title in as many seasons. In the stands one Coventry fan turns to another, "see, I told you we should have never got rid of Carl bloody Baker, club's a disgrace".
In Jamaica atm and the locals regard Ornandi Lowe as a god. Also as soon as I say I'm from Coventry or mention my team the yanks almost always reply with "OMG Cobi Jones!"
He was at the Sutton Avenue Hairdressers saturday morning, nice guy, wants the city to do well but he has moved on now and is trying to make the best of what years he has left in the game.

And I'd be surprised if anyone disagreed with that or didn't wish him well.
It's the idolisation of a player who had a good 15 months in a 5 year period with us that people mock, not the player himself. Calling him 'bakes', giving him a good rimming on social media and banging on about him at regular intervals as if he single handedly won MK Dons promotion, while ignoring our own demise with him in the team, is worthy of the ridicule it gets. You've even got someone on this thread claiming it was a mistake to let him go because Mowbray, who we didn't have then and wouldn't have for another 9 months, would have got the best out of him. Logic like that hurts my head.
