I thought after a straight red, your ban didn't take effect until 7 days later.

His Facebook status today - "sorry I can't score today (thanks ref)" suggests he knows he won't be playing.

Does that mean he won't play for the next 4 games, or have I got it wrong about the 7 day thing?

He will just miss the next three games, he will be missed today.

So the 7 day thing doesn't exist any more? Or did I get it wrong?

Sure either 2 x yellows or a straight red usually don't come into effect until 7 days after......or at least I've convinced myself there's a rule like it

Just checked the FA site for the rules. Didn't get that far, but I did find confirmation his ban started on 6.8.13
