I did think he was our best player on Saturday. Good for him, hope we see that performance more often.

He just posted this on his facebook.

Right mentality

"...I think if we go into tonight or any game thinking we can't win there's no point even turning up! We're unbeaten in our last 4 games I'm not saying drawing is acceptable we should be winning these games but it's still very ...
early with a lot of new players! If we get promoted or make the play-offs by one point I'm sure everyone won't be thinking about these first three games! And anything can happen in football its important for us to get that winning mentality back wether it be league or cup I wanna get promoted and have a trip to wembley it's not gonna be easy but if we don't believe then it wont happen but we need everyone players staff fans whoever all rowing in the same direction to get this club back to good times an back to we're it belongs!"

Nice guy and talks a lot of sense, here is a few quotes from his Facebook page

"Its a shame I liked him he's a good fella and was always goo to me! I just wanna get promoted this year so whatever it takes to do that is fine with me. Only time will tel"

"I don't mind ha. I think if we go into tonight or any game thinking we can't win there's no point even turning up! Yeah Baker seems a top bloke. Stockport fans all pretty much agree, they love him there.

A lot of people said he was rubbish on Saturday because they couldn't see past their 'David Bell bad', 'Carl Baker bad' agenda.

Was i watching a different game on saturday because i thought baker was awful again...i'd say he has easily been the worst player in the first four games, that central roll behind the strikers has never suited him, all of his better games for us have been when he's played out wide. whoever picks this 'team of the week' obviously just picks anyone who scores a goal at the weekend...complete waste of time

He received a lot of deserver stick last season but seemed like a different player near the end of last season, in a good way. Like him as CAM too - as I can't see us going too far from the diamond yet - maybe a wider diamond would be worth a go.

This is what I'm talking about.

Fair enough if you don't think he was our best player on Saturday, but to think he was our worst?

And if it's just based around goals why is non-goalscorer Matt Richards in there?

I haven't even bothered looking at this 'team of the week' thing because if baker is in it for his probably 6/10 at best performance on saturday then it's obviously a complete waste of time. Apart from Reece Brown yeah i would say he was the worst player on saturday...even when we were steam rolling bury in the first half good moves were breaking down because baker was either getting caught in possession or misplacing simple passes. i'm not anti-baker at all i just tell it how i see it. To be fair to him when we played blues at home last season he played wide right and he tore them apart (i'm pretty sure he put the ball ove for sheffer's goal too)...hopefully under a new manager he will be played in a position he's most comfortable in and we will see him put a consistant run of performances together instead of one every 8 games
