omg....he he awful.

if we are going to play him it has to further up the pitch. he's far to lightweight to play deeper.

plus how slow is he.......he got lapped over 5 yards today.

I don't think he's awful. Just come to the conclusion that this is one division too high for him. He's just out of his depth at this level I'm sorry to say.

I liked him when he came and he's had a few excellent games, but overall he is too lightweight and lacking in strength and I just think that the Championship is a bridge too far for him.

Shame, but we can't carry passengers. Any chance we can swap him for ALF?

He had a poor game today but he is no worse than Bell and McSheffrey have been so far this season.

Have you gone this season? He's been worse out of the three in all 4 games I've been to so far. Can't even control a ball or make a 5 yard pass at the moment.

Baker's performance today was far better than the performance Mcsheffery put in against Leicester.
I thought Baker did ok today and was better than Bell.

Baker was awful and that dive from him at the end just summed up his performance!!

Problem with baker and bell is that both want to get on the ball too deep, they hang around in the centre circle waiting to get the ball off the back 4 or a square pass off sammy, they need to get 10-15yards futher forward in the gap between midfield and the opposition back 4, and actually support the forwards! no-one from midfield this season are making runs into the opposition box off the ball, no wonder we can't score.a

can someone start a poll, whose a better player mcsheffrey, bell or baker?

i admit mcsheffrey hasn't started the season well but thinking back he has often been quiet the first month or so of the season.

Can't see anyone spending millions on Baker and him helping them get promoted to the prem.

Baker worked hard but no end product. We need more creativity

to be fair speedie, that was over 5 years ago and he's had a lot of injuries and has lost a yard of pace since then. That's like saying we had sherwood and he did win the premier league with Blackburn.

However, Sheffers does tend to start seasons slowly, and i remember we used to send him on loan for two months then he'd come back firing on all cylinders

i'll concede that, and he shouldn't be in team based on what he's done before. However he is still much more likely to score or create a goal for us than Baker is!

Baker was overall pretty awful today although I thought he started to get better 2nd half towards the end of the game. I thought Bell had a good game today, couldn't fault him to be honest, I think some people just like to say some players play crap every game once they label them as a crap player.

Christie was MOM today IMO. Had a great game fair play to the lad. I think so far he looks better then Clarke.

Baker was superb when he game, but then Hoofroyd came in and he lost all confidence.

Can anyone tell me where he played today? HE CANNOT play left mid, he scored like 14goals before december in league1 in CAM!

Can't help wondering if we've coached that out of him.

Agree that Boothroyd went a long way to destroy Bakers confidence,

I don't see him as a wide man either, would be more effective as a CAM

Nail on head. 14 goals in League One.

I like the lad I really wish he could make the step-up but he can't. I think he is League One level I'm afraid.

And agree about Bell. Thought he did okay yesterday.

I also thought Bell had a good game.

Baker was utter dross.

No, Bell played ok today both he and Clingan have started to link up well and a lot of our attacking play went through Bell, a few more games like that and his confidence will get to a higher level and he will start to run games.

Yet under Boothroyd he played his longest spell of games and scored his only goals for us. I think he was a bit of a gamble when we signed him looking at his record the last time he started over 20 games in a season was at Morecambe, during his time at Stockport he only played in 38 games, so perhaps we are guilty of expecting too much of him I certainly thought he had a better track record.

The below shows his appearances only. (sub appearrance in brackets)

Coventry City 2010 - 11, League 19 (13) FA Cup 2 (0) League Cup 1 (0) 0

Coventry City 2009, - 10 League 14 (8) 0

Stockport 2009 - 10, League 19 (1) FA Cup 1 League Cup 1

Stockport 2008 - 09, League 15 (7) FA Cup 1 (1) 0 League Cup 1

Morecambe 2007 - 08, League 40 (2) FA Cup 1 (0) 0League Cup (0) 1

I think Baker is one of our poorer players, a division too high I think.
