They say
Torquay take Jerel Ifil, George
Artemi and Carl Baker on trial
Torquay United have taken
defenders Jerel Ifil and George
Artemi, as well as midfielder
Carl Baker, on trial.
Ifil, 30, spent last season at
Kettering, before leaving by
mutual consent at the end of
the campaign.
Former Southend youth player
Artemi, 19, spent last season
on loan from the Shrimpers at
Isthmian League Division One
North Great Wakering Rovers.
And Baker, 29, played 27 times
for Coventry City as they were
relegated to League One last
season.
All three appeared in Friday's
5-0 pre-season friendly victory
over Bideford, and afterwards
manager Martin Ling praised
the trio saying: "The three
trialists all did the job required.
"Jerel played the full 90
minutes because he's not had
a lot of football recently and
the other two played 45
minutes each.
"They were all part of a good
team unit on the night."

How could he play Fri? And Sat?
The lazy bastards.
You know we've hit an all-time low when we're worrying about losing Carl Baker though.
Yep he's no great shakes. Wonder who discovered him and which chairman authorised his signing.
Here we go...
A bit like Freddy the boy has talent but has been too inconsistent. There will always be those that don't become the instant hits as expected but I can't think of one player Thorn's brought in that didn't have something about him.

Become instant hits?
