Our 2 senior outfield players badly let us down today. Baker's passing was poor all day and lost possession by trying to run through players, created nothing. took a few aimless shots when in possession.

Leon was clattered at the start of the first half but following one rubbish free kick he took the next which was the low point of the game, there is high and wide but that was shocking. didn't seem to get into the box to offer himself when we got behind them in the second half. He was sulking today and looked half-hearted.

2 games i've been to this season, at Shrewsbury callum was in on goal but squared it to clarke who missed, today callum was again in on goal but squared it to where he expected clarke to be but he wasn't up with play.

cannot tackle
cannot beat the whole team by yourself
yes you can shoot- but that is your game

I think baker has been off form for the last two games we should start with daniels and then after 60 minutes bring on baker. The biggest problem for leon is he is putting him self around the pitch and i think its the hardest he's had to work in many seasons

Fucking hell, a disappointing result and out comes all the negativity. So far we have had Baker slated for trying to influence a game and somebody tell us that Clarke was sulking, good to knwo we have some body language experts in here, please tell me if any players clapped or waved to the fans in a manner which suggests they are leaving in January. Perhaps just perhaps Clarke was struggling after getting clattered?

Problem is with Baker, he actually tries to do things others would be scared to do.
Sometimes it works and he is superb, sometimes, like today, it didn't and he looked poor.

Sending private messages is pathetic and childish.

Clarke definitely put a shift in. He just 'looks' like he isn't. This comes up time and time again with certain players.
It just didn't work out for Baker today. The people messaging him are bellends to be fair.

Whats Bakers best position? As I dont think hes playing in it this season. Has been disappointing this far, but its still early days.

Leons free kicks were dyer today. But on another day, they could have gone on target or even in, so I wont hold it against him...........not least until the end of the season and the 3 points dropped cost us our play off place

Lay off the 2 players, baker wasn't great no but that's football. you cant win every game and every player cant play well every game. very similar to mk dons away last year. same h t score and same full time score.

My Vale supporting friend who was at the game said Leon was a real handful and he's glad they don't have to play him every week. I asked if he was confusing him with Wilson and he said it was the taller and older if the two that was our best player?!?

thats how i pretty much saw things, but that was a bad bad tackle on leon in the 2nd half and how the ref never sent or even booked the culprit ill never know.

i enjoyed todays game, my first of the season. but i can see why theres so many goals in our games and our defence needs sorting and quick

carl baker SHOULD NOT BE CAPTAIN of our football club. The bloke is a liability who is riding the wave of over performance (in and under performing team) He is out of his depth in this new style of play. In carl bakers world, it is carls way or the highway....moaning fake tanned tart

Have to disagree, felt Baker has come on in leaps and bounds since being given the captaincy. Can't fault his commitment and when he's on his game he can be deadly.
Agree that he can be inconsistent but people have short memories as to how he has improved over the last couple of seasons.

How has he been an asset this season? Last season he was the best of a very bad bunch, this year he is out of his depth with the style of football we play.

For the last five seasons my friend. Read the other threads on baker you will find a lot of people are having a say on him. I was not slagging him off and what i said was constructive IMO. But then again it seems you are taking it all personally.

I thought Clarke put in a shift today , i'm surprised people saw it differently
Baker was woeful today , he has not had a good 90 minute game this season and has also missed nearly half the other games through suspension
I'm not his greatest fan , but have been patient with him , I believe he has lots offer the team , he just hasn't yet found his place in this side , and why he isn't taking every free kick around the box is mind boggling , at times last year that was all he was good for so let's give him all of them , he's the captain , he should tell Clarke to piss off

That brings me on to a good question, why is Leon Clarke taking free kicks from that distance? That should be Baker or Fleck!!

no club had ever been promoted after being deducted points at the start of the season. SP's aim for this season is safety and we are more than on course for that.
