Fair few I think

Honestly, in my 19 year existence of watching the city you are the one who showed the lost passion! At orient for example! Great guy, hope you find a good club (you will), city fans won't forget what you've done for us. Gutted I can't see you play in sky blue at the RICOH anymore! Good luck skip!

Absolutely gutted you have made this decision Carl while fully understanding the reasons behind it. I would like to thank you for all the qualities you have given to the club the supporters in the time you have been here . Your leadership , the passion , the driving force all exceptional qualities that you possess in abundance . A special thank you to your Family and all the support they have given you . Wishing you all the very best and certainly believe you will not be unemployed for very long . Good Luck Carl Baker

Carl, you have been a model professional in the way you have handled whatever has gone on behind the scenes. You continue to be humble and dignified, despite (what appears to us) to have been a strange and undeserved axing by the club.

Would just like to wish you and your family all the best, which is the absolute minimum that you have earned through your hard work and commitment during some of our darkest days. Just wish you could get the send off that the fans would love to give you at the Ricoh.

Top bloke, take care!

I’m sure I’m repeating the basis of all the posts above, but it saddens me to see you go Carl Wishing all the very best to you, & your family, wherever you move on to. Not born sky blue but sky blue is truly in your heart – you will never be forgotten PUSB xx p.s Look forward to seeing Louis & Jaden in our colours one day

You've been fantastic for our club. The way this season has panned out for you has left a bad taste in the mouth as you could have continued to do a great job on and off the field.
Good luck captain. #skybluelegend

Made the hairs on my arms stand up reading this. Not many players in football show this honesty and passion for a team thats let them go. Cov must have their reasons but wherever you sign next you will remembered as a CCFC legend. Best of luck Carl Baker

bsolutely gutted Skipper. It just shows the mark of you as a Man that having been treated appallingly by this club that you have nothing but good to say about it. You have served the club superbly and no doubt leave with your pride intact and your head held high. For whatever reason the club have made it abundantly clear that they no longer wanted you on the wage bill, whatever you were on you probably deserved double to put up with the crap that you have. I will be there on Friday night but disappointed that you are not leading the team out back at the Ricoh. It has been an honour and privilege to have you as both player and skipper and I wish you and your lovely family sincere best wishes and happiness for the future. Thank you Skipper.

Wankers need shooting. Fair ply Carl n all the best for you n ur family. Gonna miss ya at the club. Deffo big mistake on clubs behalf.

And there are loads more - comparing him to Hutchison, Wallace etc. Frankly an insult to players who actually performed for the club at the level they were signed at.

Baker has a career in the future in sales and marketing == he is a genius at manipulation through social media -- he is a lot better in that sphere than as a footballer.

I always get confused conjugating the verb 'to be' in the perfect tense too.

Read lots of it on here by those that tried to blame ACL/CCC for all of our problems. Like "Good move. Got us out of the rental agreement"

Behave. You may have heard a lot of blame directed at other parties, quite rightly in my opinion. But I'm sure you haven't seen people singing Sisus praises have you? Examples please or stop being silly.

You mean how some people are claiming Fisher did a good job? Presumably they read the JS interview and didn't see what was happening in front of their own eyes. Something like that?

Me behave?

So where did I mention about singing anyones praises?

But we certainly got countless posts of how bad everyone but SISU were. And how the JR was the way to go as illegal things had been done by CCC. And if the latest by Timothy is anything to go by it will all start again soon.

I was delighted with what was happening until he opened his big gob again. Now I am worried about our short term future again.

It is good to know that you never blamed CCC/ACL/Higgs for what has gone on whilst keeping quiet about what SISU have done to our club.

``Giving praise to Sisu`` That was the exact phrase you used, is that not the same as singing their praises? Examples please of people doing either one.

What about "bad move, but got us out of the rental agreement"? Doesn't mean ACL are to blame for all our problems äs the rent only became a major problem after years of mismanagement and then relegation. The only good thing is that the lease has been broken and can be restarted under different conditions. Baker was loyal and we should appreciate that in the mercenary world of footballers. Whatever our views on his "talent" we shouldn't be slagging him. He should have our thanks and best wishes for his future career - whether or not he has a good Facebook side.

Was it me that used the phrase singing their praises? But there was and still looks like defending SISU and blaming evetyone else.

Would have used RFC as a for instance if I had said it

Truth is Astute, nobody likes them or wants them around but there are people who do not share your fanatical, unrealistic and one dimensional view that they are to blame for all the ills of the western world.

So where did I say singing their praises?

And it shows how much you read and take in. I have never blamed them for everything. But yes I blame them for most of what has gone on the last couple of years.

We should be celebrating a new beginning for our club. But we have Timothy burning bridges before they have been built. One sided view?

My one sided view has been badly wrong twice about SISU. The rest of the time it has been very close or exact to what is about to happen. I got it wrong about going to Northampton. I got it wrong about us coming home although I had been saying that their best hope was to bring us home. Not bad for a biased view. Now I see SISU trying to get us to back them against CCC again with the future of our club coming second. Do you disagree with this?

We have some that think the bomb squad and forcing pkayers out of our club is not a bad thing whilst expecting players to stay loyal to our club. Do you agree to this?

So you are seriously going to argue the toss between `singing praises` and `giving praises to` ? Is that right?
I am wasting my time here. If you are not an idiot you are doing a great impression.

Doyle?!? Fucking Doyle?!?

Where's the nearest brick wall to smash my head against?

Also, considering that probably puts baker in the top 25 from the 4 years where we've probably used over 100 players, he's done well.

1, Singing the praises of and praising are two totally different things.

2, No I am not trying to do an impression of yourself.

If anyone says Gary Deegan was better, I'm coming round their house to give them some counselling or a slap.

More often than not I enjoyed watching Baker play, one of the few players we've had over the last few years who could beat a player with skill. If Pressley has decided he's no longer required, based on seeing him in training and the plans he has for the team, then that's fair enough.

I hope he finds a new club, and that he does well for them.
