on the football pitch, maybe........off it, I don't think King is allowed to wear laces where he's heading....

The fair play rules say we use last years figures for this year. Next year should force these cuts. It's spite.
This is just SISU responding to there investors loosing a fortune in the liquidation instead of transferring the debt into the club.

I understood that FFP is more complex than just using last year's figures. This news has broken after the club have knowledge of season ticket sales - or lack of them...

I heard that clubs have to provide a forecast and monthly management accounts, proof that HMRC have been paid etc to the football league. Fisher stated that he thought there would be 3000-7000 attending Sixfields and I assume his plan would have been based on this. When clubs fall significantly short of plan (I stand to be corrected) a transfer embargo can be placed in the current season. FFP prevents over ambitious budgeting by looking at 'actuals' in order to prevent the 'going for broke' in one season scenario we've seen so many times before at other clubs.

Although I'm happy to be corrected the losing of £1m from the wages is an attempt to stop a permanent transfer embargo.

It will be long season - and looks like another relegation battle.

This has to be expected with NOPM and I for one will not change my stance on this. If it means they have to sell the whole fucking squad so be it. Someone mentioned earlier, when SISU have finished destroying us I will be back to support the club and start again.

The few 100 that do go to sixfields aren't going to make that much diffrence, so long as the bulk of the support doesn't go. Which it won't because it's foo far away.

With little income then I would guess TF has to look at the wage bill. But

- if all 3 go that leaves us with 14 players plus the bomb squad
- no senior players
- the transfer fees will count towards the FFP (not sure how much that matters any more)
- players under 21 do not count towards the FFP

finally the Daily Mail article might not be true but it does alert other teams to the possibility ...... all three can do a job for a team in Championship & L1

Doesnt look good ......... thought recent seasons had been tough! this one could top the lot for being bad!

And still you get idiots like VOR backing sisu!

And they have the audacity to call themelves fans of coventry city.

What is wrong with these people?

You have Linnell (showing his true colours again and again) filtering the guests to ensure only the pro sisu line gets aired, you have the trolls on here saying you must back sisu now. You have the FL showing they are utterly spineless. and yet they still bang on about supporting sisu!

How can you sleep at nights knowing these people are not even pretending to care about the club, when they are deliberately making efforts to get the team relegated?

That isn't a fan. I cannot even describe what that makes them.

This is just plain wrong. Cannot give up the fight now. SISU OUT NOPM

It's in the sun too so I think there's defiantly an air of truth in it for a couple of papers to be running the story. Reality is sisu are happy for us to go down again, we're in a who blinks first situation. As hard as it is to say it we could do with acl getting some rugby matches, concerts e.t.c on at the ricoh to prove to sisu they can exist without city.

The Ricoh Arena is staging a game between a Coventry Former Players team and a Midland Former Players Team on Sunday August 11th at 2pm in direct competion to the Sky Blues League One game against Bristol City at Northampton Town FC.

Admission for the game at the Ricoh Arena is £5 a ticket and all proceeds to charity.

Tickets will be available via the Ricoh ticket office open from Thursday and also on-line.

On Sunday August 25th, whilst Coventry City are playing Gillingham at Sixfields, Coventry City Ladies will be playing at the Ricoh Arena in the WPL Southern League, a division they have been relegated into, through an inital lack of support from SISU and CCFC over the years, amongst other a host of other reasons, in their opening game of the season against Lewes.

Surprise Surprise!! the preferred bidder, what a total shambles!! we are a laughing stock.
They are going to ruin our club and then get out, but what are they gaining by doing that??

This is a mixture of many things including the fall in income, the SISU investors who lost millions last Friday, ACL being able to hold out and force SISU to show its hand (a hand which we now see is a busted flush) a failure to sell any players to generate income, lack of sponsors and the list goes on and on.....NOPM is helping to drive them out but its a bitter pill. All I would say to people is remember this is not about 1 season its about securing the club playing at the ricoh for our kids and even kids/kids.

As for the story the last Baker post on fb was "Stuck in traffic for three hours" "Longest day ever" #gutted. So not much to read into that. The next question is who will take these players on at the wage and contract lentgh they will desire? Football below the premiership has changed and no one is handing out massive deals (qpr aside)

Baker on the radio yesterday said its up to him, Murphy & L Clarke as senior players to help the youngsters along. Even with those 3 we were always going to struggle this season. Now it looks like they will be leaving soon I really fear for our young squad. God knows what it will do to them if they're going to be in for a hiding every game. Just praying sisu sell up sometime soon.

They might not have been actually told they can go, but it sends a message to other clubs that any half reasonable offer would be accepted.

I hope he also asked if our owners have really been stupid enough to spunk that much cash away on wages...

I'd be very surprised if those reported wages were true.

I appreciate that the Murphy and Baker contracts are a somewhat older, but last summer I heard from a football agent that the maximum that the club would pay was in the £2k to £3k per week range (which sounded pretty sensible).

As for the reports in the Mail - well as a general principle, I hate the rag, but they do have one sports reporter who takes a close interest in us, so who knows.

In the longer term, I think that it's a (virtually) inevitable consequence of the move to Northampton that at least some of the more senior players will be moved on.

I did get from a direct source (I'd say as 100% guaranteed as possible to have) a certain other player we used to have on our books was on £8k pw.

So it wouldn't surprise me if that was our top ceiling at a certain time, and probably a time when Baker in particular could sneak into that.

The preferred bidders ah, GREAT CHOICE.
a bunch of children could do what they are doing to our club, ALTHOUGH THEY WOULD DO THINGS FOR THE RIGHT REASONS.
I am almost ready to give up.

£8000 a WEEK !!! what? for league 1

you have to be off your head to think that is ok, they simply are not good enough for that type of money. honestly Murphy at times is good, but seriosly? better than any other legaue 1 keeper? not really. same goes for the other two. they just dont justify the wage. let them go, lets cut the kids teeth in this league and let them learn hard good football - forget old heads, we need to start from fresh with a young squad full of energy and spirit in this league. we can build on it if we ever get promoted. i say well done Otium you need to get rid of the high earners and make the players deserve the highest wage packs.

one last thing, £8000 a week is 6 times the average wage of a nurse. the difference being a nurse cares

Thanks for sharing. At least we know it's true then. We're going to end up with a team of kids at this rate.

If/when these players leave I'm finished with the club until SISU leave.
Maybe I'll feel different when I'm calmed down but league 2 is a certainty if they leave

Sadly I can believe it as 2 were signed by Dulieu who believed high earners enhanced asset value.

just to add Baker is the only one of the 3 i would not want to leave, but saying that he is an awful capatain, he simply doesnt do enough at the back. i think they need to get rid to save money and that is completely understandable under the circumstances, why does every have these knee jerk reactions at the moment., calm down dears

Spunk money on signings in the hope of league success, forget the structure of the club.

Not all the debt boils down to a conspiracy theory.

Yes, and under whose ownership were these players given the contracts? Why SISU's!

Not matter what way you look at it, SISU are responsible.
