You're confusing attendances with occasion. For example if in our final home game of this season a draw will gain us automatic promotion and we play it in front of 15000 we get the point and get promoted does that mean that the JPT game against Crewe was a bigger occasion because the crowd was bigger?

I don't think so and I doubt you'll find many if any who will.

No because they had to subsidise prices to create a bigger crowd. If it was 32,000 at full prices it clearly would have been bigger as it would have attracted a larger support base.

Probably not. But then it's talking about the event itself not the audience. It's one of Rugby's biggest clubs if not the biggest playing in European rugby's premier competition. It doesn't matter how you want it to look they are the facts. As an event it is therefore ONE of the highest profile sporting event that has been put on at the Ricoh. Not THE biggest but ONE.

In which case there's the tennis and snooker which go above it, their first game here, Gillingham, Chelsea, crewe. The semi finals for rugby. The Olympics. Probably their game against Leicester.

I doubt it's even top 5 is it?

I wouldn't disagree with that really. But if you were to list how many sporting events have been on at the Ricoh since it opened? Hundreds? Does it run into the thousands? It will definitely be at the top end of the table most likely top 20 maybe even tip 10, so it's right then to Sa it's one of the biggest, given that is what the article actually says.

If I'm wumming you obviously think that a promotion clincher in front of a smaller crowd than a JPT game wouldn't be the bigger occasion. You tell me who the wum is when you can't even accept basic fact's.

Everyone knows you are a troll who only ever posts to defend your beloved Wasps.

Only an idiot would say crowds are not indicative of the size of an occasion. An "occasion" is only such if it attracts an appropriate level of crowd.

I also doubt that anyone would agree with your ridiculous example, because of course only 15000 would turn up for such a game.

Ha ha ha. Beloved Wasps. Argument lost really when you start that shit.

How do you define an appropriate crowd? Is there a set number of people who have to be in a crowd watching before it becomes an occasion? The fact that the two opponents are from different countries playing in the biggest competition that that sport has to offer has no bearing on it.

Isn't every game is an occasion? Surely the attendance / demand compared to others judges the size of the occasion?

Fact one, the biggest competition in that sport has just occurred. The World Cup.

Fact Two, Southern hemisphere teams would state that they have at least as big/or bigger competitions, and that our European Cup isnt the biggest club competition in the world

I meant club Rugby.

Fact two would be true if southern hemisphere players weren't flocking to northern hemisphere club's.

Flocking is hardly the word. If you mean a handful after lucrative end of career deals, then yes I would say so.

I don't know. There was an article in the guardian before the world cup that said will the last player to leave Australia turn of the lights. To be fair some are going to Japan but the majority are coming to Europe, France especially and many if not most are still in the prime of their careers playing in the world cup. It's more than a handful and not all about lucrative end of season careers. You only have to look at the Toulon squad to see that. In fact didn't Australia just change their rules on having to play in Australia if you want to play for your country so they could take certain key players? I think you'll find that they did.

To be honest it's really about the money generated on the day not the crowd size.

I've made the assumption that Wasps are now firmly established at the Ricoh so I'm looking at how can CCFC make the most of it.
Threads like this which are created in the vain attempt to get Wasps to fold are out of the Sisu tactics book and we know how good that is.

Until Sisu actually tell us what the plan is for our future we are just pi$$ing in the wind.

Threads like this are discussing it. That's all.

Do you really think a thread on an internet forum would make wasps fold? Really?

No of course not, that's why it is a waste of time.
But I'm sure a few on this thread think that it helps things if they can work towards Wasps downfall as a plan and a Wasps put down thread will help.

I think the opposite in respect that Sisu have no plan and CCFC cannot afford the Ricoh in L1.
In that respect we need to ride on the back of Wasps until the tables turn.
Two successful clubs at the Ricoh is the best way forward for all.

Our efforts would be best spent chasing Sisu for a plan for our future and avoiding JR2 at all costs.

So if ACL were breaking even then and have more business now and CCFC is being run at break even why can't CCFC afford the Ricoh in L1?

I very much doubt anybody thinks on here discussing it on a website will bring on wasps "downfall".

So it is a waste of time discussing it?

Do you want me to hold the carpet up while you sweep?

Does Wasps being successful make any difference to CCFC?

So you are saying revenues are increasing since wasps took over and that wasps holdings are making a profit from the Ricoh.

Really? Do you have any evidence?

I think it does. Particularly if CCFC can't afford a new stadium or have the ability/clout/sponsors/finance to run the Ricoh.

Why does it? If Wasps win the league this year how will it benefit CCFC?

Thank god you are looking at how CCFC can make the most of Wasps 'firm estbalishment' I bet Tim Fisher will be on the phone to you straight away, just like Wasps are likely to fold now they have been discussed on this site.

Sisu tactic books...bloody hell how old are you.

You sir are off your f*cking chain.

Depends what deal they get at the end of the season.
A successful Wasps will generate bigger incomes for them and take pressure off other income streams like CCFC.

If Sisu mess around with the deal or challenge the Wasps/CCC deal (JR2?) then we may be out on a limb.

We need to get a 10 year rolling deal (with opt out) and stop fighting Wasps.

ACL were not breaking even, we don't know if they are now. The results of Wasps RFC and ACL are confused in some of the reports.

What's yours? Some assumptions on Wasps performance. You do you realise that they are always going to come out and say the going is good, they don't want to spook the £35m worth of bondholders.

Yes Tony Australia did change the rules, so that a huge amount of 2 influential players who play in France could make the squad.

In fact of the whole squad of 33 that Australia took to the World Cup, these two were the only ones who played in the Northern Hemisphere.

So much for flocking, with a flockingly large 6% of their squad playing in France.

Haha throws his dolly out of the pram when I disagree. You are just a disharmonious prick.

When I write posts disproving the crap you write, or asking you to evidence the spurious shit you write, you ignore my posts as you just write a total heap of crap and havent got a leg to stand on.

Its got to the point where I just have lost the politeness and say it as it is. I contribute a whole lot more than the utter bollocks you write K, so keep living in your little bubble.

Trying to remain positive and looking for ways of CCFC surviving.
Not, realising that CCFC can't manage ACL at this level so adopting "If we can't have it no one can"
