How did you know at the time?
You must have had a crystal ball !!
Can you remember the last minute deal that had us all feeling we had been saved?
Or are you looking back and saying that with the luxury of hindsight ?

Looking back administration sounded worrying but now it seems maybe it was the best option.
At the time I just watched the football and never got involved in the politics of it all. Happy Days.
SkyBlueTalk was unknown to me and little did I know the friends it would make me

Some people knew about hedge funds and to be wary back then, even then without the education since!

Don't think I was posting on here then but to be honest I wasn't that upset about them coming in. I knew what they were but their reputation was for taking a failing business, sorting it out and selling it on. The business side of the club was in a terrible state and I would have been happy for them to come in and do that.

Unfortunately it didn't quite turn out like that.

I think there is a big European game soon. That will be the acid test as they will be budgeting for sell outs at these games.

If the Coventry public turn their back on them for that one then they will start to sweat.

Especially as the stadium may well be nameless as well in January.

No doubt the football club will get the blame if it is nameless in Jan, they can call it what they want it will always be the Ricoh

Stadium Sponsorship at a certain level is vital to fulfil their bond payment pledges.

Italia has already on this thread implied "bad publicity" surrounding the football club is proving a concern to wasps. This I know is total bollocks.

Wasps, however, will not want to engage in talks until the naming rights issue is resolved as this will be a factor in what they decide they want us to pay.

Only thing I have heard about naming rights is that it is proving a more difficult task than expected.

Have also heard Wasps are working on branding the concorse so everything will be yellow / black and Wasps related. They also are planning to refurb Bar 87 to make it more like a rugby club whatever that means. Was told both things are part of an ongoing rebranding program so don't expect these to be the last changes.

As far as they have been told we are leaving at some point so in that respect when something needs changing sky blue might not be first choice.
Can you really complain about it changing to yellow and black when Sisu are talking about leaving.
Sisu are playing into their hands if the negative publicity value is more than the increase in revenue.

They aren't things that need changing, they are things they are deciding to change as part of a rebranding plan for the statdium.

Last I heard the club were saying they were going to talk to Wasps, why would they be talking to them if they were set on moving out at the end of the season?

What negative publicity are you referring to?

If CCFC are paying rent and the whole concourse Black and Yellow too and it is more and more Wasps branded I can only see it making more city fans get behind a new stadium.

The way you speak about some things it is almost like Wasps should / could sort of blackmail the club into things.

Some of the things aren't things that need changing, they are things they want to change.

Bad publicity? The club are doing well. Offer some of the best priced tickets in the football league. Have a reputable manager. I assume you're referring to the court action, which is against CCC at present time not Wasps. Maybe, just maybe, investors want to know the outcome of the JR before they sponsor a franchised rugby club who's only concern is financial gain. Maybe they want to know what kind of company they will be investing in. Maybe it's nothing to do with CCFC at all because as you always allude to we're moving out. It just might be no one wants to offer them the money there asking for without assurances that the football team will remain because contrary to what you think, we're the bigger attraction.

Imagine the outrage.

Wasps don't get the Ricoh Sponsored and loads of money because CCFC have said they are moving out.

(I personally can't see what happening because of that reason though)

I wouldn't bother Nick, the only person who ever alleges these things is Italia, as you know he as in at ACL, and they tell all the inside info to that bloke from Bedworth.

The mark of his posts, is that the only person who ever agrees is Tony, who admitted he is wumming.

I will await Italia's fact of the Land Rover Stadium being announced shortly. I wont hold my breath.

The thing is I am sure Italia thinks he is the only person in the know, whilst there are a few people out there who also feel they are. He is the only one who shows blind faith in everything Wasps do, funny that. Still as the opposite to Italia I heard that Wasps are a little edgy over the ever falling crowds, and their ever downward spiral. Shame!

I can only give you my opinion on my conversations.
However not committing to a long term deal, with or without a new stadium, is a big risk for our club.
JR1 and then JR2 will effect Wasps because it is a risk that sponsors and investors can see on the horizon.

How is it a risk to Wasps? The legal action is against the council. If the council have done nothing wrong there's no issue. If the council have done something wrong then if there is any punishement it will be against them.

But what will the punishment be? Probably a lot of costs being paid to SISU, which means the rate payers of Coventry will have to foot the bill. If they insist on the £60m that means that every man woman in child would have to pay £200 each.

Wouldn't that only happen if the council are found to be in the wrong? In which case it's their fault and people should be annoyed at them for doing stuff risking tax payers money?

That's scare mongering to be fair. You could be saying that Wasps value the ricoh at 50m (or whatever it was) but bought it for 5.5 million, how much has the tax payer lost there too?

1. That would be the councils fault
2. Not one Coventry rate payer would pay one penny more
3. It's not going to happen

Yes Nick agreed but all I was saying is if the Council eventually loose in this saga what would the punishment be? All I can see is that SISU want is a big pay out , why else would they be doing all this. Yes people would not be happy with the Council but if a payout is the punishment how else can the money be raised?

Then it should be taken personally from all the people who were in the wrong at the council. I don't think even if SISU won it would be anywhere near 60m, it will still be spun as big bad SISU taking money from a poor kids mouth or something when the council closes a food bank or something.

All I am trying to say is what would the punishment be and if it's not a big payout of some form why are SISU doing this, cannot just be to cover the legal costs?
