Looks like the back 4 that had a stormer will be changed against Swindon because of their aerial threat.

Pressley stressed: “The fact is that without Andy Webster, Aaron Martin and Reda Johnson we lack a bit of height and that can be crucial at both ends of the field.”

I assume he means Johnson will be back in?

Yep, as well as the defence played on sat, it's horses for courses and the back four have done well of late anyway.

Tough decision really. Swindon will be a far tougher game Walsall had one eye on their cup match IMO

That's why I could never be a football manager.

A clean sheet with the defence praised, especially for their distribution which enabled us to create and attack.

Personally, they have earned the right to play the next game, I would have kept it the same.

Thought Pennington looked a class above what we currently have as centre backs in the game at Walsall.
It was him that marshalled the back line not Willis, he was constantly shouting to move players up and
gave Willis a rite bollocking early on when he lost the Walsall centre forward on two occasions.
He looks a better at centre half than at full back.

Hard decision. I feel if we go back to Webster and Co we will lose the forward momentum we had in the Walsall game and end up creating few chances. Personally I would have risked keeping the back four the same - especially Pennington. People seem to forget that attacking also makes the other team cautious about moving forward. It sounds like in previous games we have been too cautious ourselves and invited other teams to attack us.

I think we also need to acknowledge that the back 4 (Martin and Webster) had kept 4 cleansheets and conceded just 3 goals in the previous 6 league games. Does that just get discounted because of 1 good performance?

That is IF Martin returns on loan or perm deal ... otherwise it will be Webster and Willis CB although probably rather Pennington CB and Willis RB, Johnson won't make it if he did I would have him CB certainly not LB!

Don't recall Swindon being much of a threat in the air. It was their movement that caused issues. What games has he scouted where Swindon went with the high ball?
