I'm a 1970's supporter sky-blue / green and black change kit. So how many times would we have used our change kit back then?

There was very little tv football, star soccer ,which I think was Stoke City's personal tv channel and motd. Black and white for a lot of us.

Anyway ,would we have only used it once a season when Man City were in the !st div?

No it was used when we played teams in blue or even against Spurs or Leeds. Theres a famous photo with Tommy Hutchison and the toilet roll when we played Spurs and wore brown. No idea why.

Also wore the brown kit at Derby when Steve Hunt made his debut for us.

Was it? I always thought it was the hammering at the Hawthorns. I was there for that.

No, Derby was in the September (IIRC) and WBA came a few weeks later.

Tommy Docherty was Derby's manager and quipped that he thought we would melt in the sun.

Because on black and white TVs with poor contrast, it could be hard to tell the difference between light colours and white.

We changed. kit against a team in blue and for some reason that stopped.
With my eyes its definitely a colour clash.
It might have been for contractual reasons but played in Sky Blue v Bristol Rovers and for me , it's a colour clash.

Wow cheers. Can honestly say I've never seen that kit before. Did we only wear it once?

I'm still sure we wore all red like Liverpool one game away at either Derby or Spurs in the early 70s

Good point - missed that and it was Hutch as well!!

Don’t remember the all red, but sounds plausible against a team with blue/navy shorts.

I was there for that. Gary Thompson scored our consolation and my old man made us stay to the end. Child cruelty

Pretty sure that Fergie got our goal that day. Think it made it 4-1?

Check out A&BC bubble gum cards from late 60’s/ early 70’s and there’s one with Ian Gibson in green & black stripes on the pitch at WHL with a clear image of the shelf behind him.

Oh,that reminds me of a dark history of a murder in the late 70's,and the brutal murder outside of one of the night clubs.

And in the yellow version too. The plain yellow with blue round collar worn away at West Ham in the league cup 2nd leg was only worn once

The cherry red shirt and navy collar was worn during season 1974 75. Made its first appearance at the old baseball ground Derby in a 1. 1 draw
