Isn’t it just plain weird it’s not been launched after the season has started. Any other clubs done the same ?

I'm hoping they don't announce it and just walk out with it on a matchday

Think Oxford are the only other team in the league now without an away kit.

If there is a lettering/number issue, you'd think they could at least unveil what it looks like, but I guess they probably don't want to show it without giving a date for pre-orders

Isn't there a date that kits have to be registered by?

I guess we don't really need to wear it for a while yet. The big problem will be Leeds away next month as i can't imagine we could play in the sky blue as its really light in colour and if the leaks are believed the away kit is white. God knows how far off a 3rd kit is.

That's why I don't like white as an away strip. Not sufficiently different from sky blue

You'd assume they've already been registered with the league, as last year we saw the designs in that Sky league programme and they weren't then revealed officially by the club until the 14th August.
One more day to go until I'm Sisu in...

They could do with more stocks of the home shirts, out of all sizes unless you are a wee little chappie.

Isn't it just marketing? Leave the gap between the Home release and the Away as big as possible to maximize the sales of the first launch. Also nearer the end of the month pay days is better for impulse buys

I think this must be the reason for the delay in away kits, they don’t want to announce it for it then to sell out straight away so no one can buy it?? Can’t think of any logic behind not announcing before the season started

They could still announce it they don't have to sell it.

That would kill the marketing. Needs to be announced just before release or people will lose interest.

Could well be a supply issue or a late change in something holding it up, Hummel have form. But people were worrying about the Home shirt launch and that was pretty slick if a little late.

If we were keeping the kits for 2 seasons id understand, but to launch late and only have for a season is a little frustrating

It's strange, every season seems to throw up an issue with something , kit, season tickets, the inability to process paper tickets ( Everton) which makes the club look amateurish. I love the fact that we are progressing on the coaching side , players, training ground etc but certain aspects are very much WIP, a very minor gripe .

For all the improvements made by King it’s baffling that the commercial side of things still seem to be so bad and no heads appear to have rolled for it. Like @steveo1987 says in the post above this are problems every year.

If there is an issue over letters etc or supply problems is there any problem with us wearing last seasons away kit if our home kit clashes with the other team until our away kit is ready ?

would it be allowed by the EFL given that a team this season has all ready stated they will use their home kit for two seasons ?

Like someone has said, I think Leeds away end of September is the only time the home kit could clash because they’re both light colours, but even then a white away kit is not going to help. So we might need an away and third kit pretty sharpish

That being said, there’s no way we get to end of September without some kind of explanation or announcement

Not sure that Sky blue vs White is even a clash officially. never was in the past and Man City vs Tottenham is often played in both home kits.

Do we even need an away shirt?!

I did wonder if they have asked for 'Coral' names/numbers it fit in with the Monzo branding. might take a bit of sorting

I honestly think we are being punished for the online leak about 2 months ago. 'You already know the away kit, so if someone is going to spoil the reveal, then the rest of you will have to wait' or the rumoured black/gold 3rd gets moved up to away kit and makes the original leak look stupid.

To be honest from the rumours, I'm more interested in the third kit than the away kit.

Will probably be 4 games until the end of the season before we hear anything about it at this rate

Yeah, don't think we will premier an 'change' kit until QPR

I think it’s more to do with the shade, rather than actual colours. They’re both lighter colours, Spurs had dark shorts vs City’s white shorts when they played a couple of seasons ago. Last season they played in away/third colours against each other.

Who knows, maybe it’s some fight against modern football, we’re gonna have the home shirt for the next 4 years and play in training bibs if we ever play against Man City in the cup

Is it that bad? I'd say the commercial stuff is light years ahead of anything we have had in the past.

Just walk around the superstore and see how much we now have on offer, retro ranges, toys games all sorts. there was nothing worth getting a few years back.

People moaned about the home shirt taking so long but once confirmed it went pretty smoothly and has been the best selling shirt ever.

I'm sure there is a good reason for the delay, no rush anyway we aren't likely to need it on the pitch any time soon

It's poor

I tweeted the club yesterday saying is there any danger of shirt printing, no ones buying the excuse that it's the EFL as every other club has it, it's a fuck up from our retail team AGAIN

Lienan was also telling anyone who would listen at the JSB day we would have loads more retro range

That was 5 months ago

How many business owners do you think class record breaking sales as a failure at all let alone a failure to the point that heads must roll
