The club really are trying to make it a closed shop away. This just taken from a Supporters Club site,

Away day info just received from the club, if you are going to away games this year then you must meet the 4th tier points requirement.
“Ahead of the 25/26 season I am emailing to confirm the requirements for your ticket requests.
As per last season the age of the persons account must match the age of the ticket being requested (e.g. we will not issue an adult ticket against an U14 season ticket). That person (season ticket holder) must be the person using the away ticket, they are not transferable.
Additionally, all supporter numbers that are being assigned to these away tickets must have enough points to fall into the 4th sales window.
For example, if a game goes on sale to STH with 1500+ points first, then going down to 1400+, 1300+, 1200+ - the supporters on your list must have more than 1200+ points and be a current season ticket holder.”

Not really.

Half of all games went to general sale last year, plenty of opportunity to build points

The above will be for the games in higher demand where the most points deserve the best opportunity to get a ticket.

Not really. The supporters club system open to absue, and as above will only be for small allocation / big games - which should absolutely go to people who have put in miles.

has this changed? I don't see the problem tbh. people complained that supporters clubs were being handed tickets to do with as they wish.

saying the person using the ticket has to be the person it was allocated to and they will only assign tickets to supporters in the higher points bracket is a good thing isn't it?

How is this controlled though? The suporters club only need eligible names and then can give them to whoever they want to

I suppose a degree of trust from the people running the clubs themselves.
Whilst nothing is guaranteed from that POV I’m sure it’ll appease some supporters who feel the piss it taken.

People with high number of points go to games, so won't be giving their tickets to others. The risk of doing so could result in the supporter's club having their allocation stopped. They are not going to risk that, having invested individually and collectively into the club. If these 'rules' ensure that 99% of tickets go to their intended target, that's fair enough imo.

the threat of having them taken away. this isn't SISU and Fisher who don't give a fuck. We've seen with the family zone King doesn't have much time for people that take the piss.

people who run the supporters clubs will know their members with points by sight, they'll know if someone is passing on tickets. are they going to risk no longer getting tickets?

Tbf no different to someone with high points buying it and passing on if they can't make a game. There will always be some who take advantage whatever the rules.

Hopefully stops the day trippers like Fadz Rudoni and Grennan turning up for the odd game when they feel like it

Given that most away games go to general sale, the ‘abuse’ clearly isn’t widespread. Sure, there’s been games where a mate has helped me out and vice versa.

Trust me, to get to 1400+ or so, there’s times where it can be a labour of love. I was questioning my sanity when going to Blackburn away on a midweek and Cardiff on NYD.

If you want to build points, go to midweek games that never sell out
