You keep making the same point in different threads. He doesn't need to because they have never denied it. I cannot be held responsible for the fact that there are people like yourself prepared to so slavishly absolve the council of any blame.

It is far harder to attract new customers than it is to keep existing ones that's one of the first things I was told when I moved into retail. That's why companies run loyalty schemes for existing customers, so that they don't switch to another retailer/hotel chain/airline etc. My first current account was aimed at students and had a load of benefits because they knew that if they could get people whilst they're young they're more likely through apathy/laziness see here http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-22936948 and here http://www.theguardian.com/money/2010/oct/09/switching-bank-accounts-consumer-focus for evidence of this. The key thing is to get them as young as possible before someone else does and the amount of effort required to get them to become your customer is increased immensely.

I'm still with my bank over twenty years later, along the way they've made me offers designed to keep me with the bank and I don't mind admitting they worked. It hasn't always been a totally happy relationship but the fact is the negatives didn't annoy me enough to go and do something about getting started with another bank. The same is almost true of my choice of Football Club, that hasn't always been the best of times and I've seen two relegations that have left me in tears. However there have been some good times on the way and the Cup Final was one of the best days of my life. If the club don't attract Coventry youngsters when they're young and they decide to support someone else (Man City, Arsenal, Chelsea even Villa) it will be very hard to convince them to drop their support and become Sky Blues fans later on. Most youngsters I would imagine become supporters because either their parents already support the club and they're taken to matches. Or they convince their parents to take them to see their local team.

If as a parent who's not a supporter I believe that you're far more likely to take your child on an eight mile round trip so they can watch the team than going to do a 60-70 mile round trip so that your child can support the team. If the parents are supporters then I hope they're doing everything possible to keep their children on the sky blue path as we're going to need those youngsters in the future.

Fair enough I can't fault that logic and for the record I'm not absolving the council of anything, I'd like an independent investigation into each party in this mess. There is also the fact as mentioned in the other thread that there is the little matter of this being something that might have legal shut up until the case is over restrictions to it.

It's just that if it were me I'd trying to attract as many fans as possible to Sixfields given the far lower revenue that the club is likely to receive there (lower capacity, cheaper tickets etc.). So showing those fans that have decided to go to an event in the Ricoh rather than travel that one of the two owners of the stadium reneged on a deal with me and aren't the whiter than white that they believe - would certainly be a tactic I'd use.

Perhaps they should publish it, but I can't help but feel most people would shrug and say so what. I'm not sure how they come back from this. I think this is important, but ultimately SISUs actions since that point have lost them any sympathy they might have had otherwise. Perhaps they should have made more noise about this at the time. Appreciate the classy response BTW, I had the grouch dial up to maximum when I made the last post.

There are loads of things that have been published that people ignore. It really demonstrates how people hear what they want to hear and read what they want to read.

If I had my sneaky bar steward hat on I would have published it the second the council loaned ACL the money. Or at the latest the same time as I had made the claims public (assuming there were no leagal reasons why I shouldn't). They needed to swing the pendulum in their favour as early as possible and for me they just didn't do that.

Were the parking restrictions in place for the ladies game? They weren't for the charity match 2 weeks ago.

No. That was a message to the majority on here who seem to care more about ACLs future than that of their club. Seems you're one of the majority.

I don't mention SISU because I don't need to. No one cares about them.

WTF? City's support would have been even worse over the years without us 'outsiders'.

I've taken your advice though and will be seeing Racing Club Warwick play Coventry Copsewood this afternoon. Introduce yourself as you'll no doubt be attending to support a team from your city.

Quite possibly the most insane post I have ever read on this forum. You do realise nearly 40% of ST holders last season lived outside Coventry? If anything, the club does not make enough of the fact that it represents not just the city of Coventry but the county of Warwickshire too. It would be like a Leicester City fan declaring that people in Leicestershire should support someone else.

somewhere on the council website there's a document about the Ricoh and it states parking restrictions to be put in place for any event where a crowd over a certain size is expected (think it's 10K off the top of my head).
